Here is what I came up with!

HAPPY GARDENER WITH BOOK IN HAND

6 WORD MEMOIR MEME

Lynne from Lynnes Little Corner tagged me for this meme. It sounded easy enough, but it's not really.

Here are the meme rules:

1. Write your own six word memoir
2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like
3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to this original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere
4. Tag five more blogs with links
5. Remember to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

How about 1. Joy from Thoughts of Joy
2. Sarah at BritGal in the USA

Looking forward to Working in the Garden

These pictures are from my garden last year. I hope I can start buying some plants to start the gardens. Today the weather here is lovely-it's about 65 and sunny! I fed the birds and noticed a chickadee has taken over the little wren house I have in my garden. I guess the wrens didn't want it. I hope the bluebirds start hanging around again. I just love Spring in the South!!

Having a great weekend!

Yesterday (Saturday) I spent the day with both my daughters. We tried making paper flowers (from Martha Stewart's book) for Jenny, my youngest daughters wedding reception. Well all I've got to say is Martha Stewart lies!!! It isn't as easy as it looks, even though we made some really decent roses out of her special crepe paper. Now I know why people charge so much to make paper flowers out of tissue paper and crepe paper!

Today (Sunday) John and I had brunch with our friends from the neighborhood. We went to a new place called Salara. The desserts were amazing. I had a spinach salad with chicken and yes, I did have a lemon bar for dessert, which was awesome! Overall the weekend has been really a very nice one! Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!

Rhett Butler's People

I loved this book! It was like reading Margaret Mitchell again! I know why Margaret Mitchell's estate asked Donald McCaig to write this book. He really kept the whole Gone with the Wind aura going. I would definitely recommend this book.

The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox

I finished this book on Friday night. It was different but I liked it. The only thing you have to really pay attention to is who is talking, the author bounces back and forth between characters. Here is an Amazon book review:

From Publishers WeeklyStarred Review. O'Farrell (After You'd Gone) delivers an intricate, eloquent novel of family malice, longings and betrayal. Slim, stylish Iris Lockhart runs a dress shop in contemporary Edinburgh when she's not flirting with her stepbrother Alex or rendezvousing with her married attorney lover, Luke. Esme Lennox, meanwhile, is ready to be discharged from the soon-to-be-closed psychiatric hospital where she's been a patient (read: virtual prisoner) for 61 years. Iris becomes aware of Esme's existence when she's informed, to her disbelief, that she has been granted power of attorney over Esme by Kitty Lockhart, Iris's Alzheimer's-afflicted grandmother. It turns out Kitty and Esme are sisters, but Kitty kept quiet about Esme after she was hospitalized at age 16. Layer upon layer of Lockhart family secrets are laid bare—the truth behind Esme's institutionalization, why her existence was kept a secret, and a twist involving Iris's parents—as Iris mulls over what to do with her new charge, and Esme and Kitty reconnect. O'Farrell maintains a high level of tension throughout, and the conclusion is devastating. (Oct.) Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

The Winter Rose

I completed The Winter Rose and I really miss all the characters already! Jennifer Donnelly certainly has a way of weaving wonderful stories in one book. I can't wait for the 3rd book in the trilogy to come out! I read The Tea Rose, the first book in this trilogy and it was also wonderful. If you like historical fiction this one's for you! I have e-mailed Jennifer Donnelly a few times and she has always answered me back. She seems to be a very nice person and what a talented writer.

Ring of Kerry, Ireland
My husband, John and I went to Ireland for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2004. We had an awesome trip and we will never forget it. We actually got to visit our friends who live in Northern Ireland. We spent 3 wonderful days with them! The picture above was taken when we visited The Ring of Kerry. The beauty of Ireland is just spectacular! If you ever get a chance visit there.
Megan is my oldest daughter. She and Ken were married on April 12, 2008. It was a wonderful ceremony and reception!
Jenny and Kevin at their wedding 8/30/08. The wedding was at our home and turned out wonderful! Everyone had such a good time!
