Happy Birthday Megan!!

Yesterday was Megan's birthday!  She turned 32!  When did this happen!!!  This picture was taken last St. Patrick's Day at the parade here in Charlotte.  John and I had breakfast with her and Ken.  Megan actually had a birthday weekend!  On Friday Jenny planned from 8:00 a.m. until midnight for Megan to receive a gift every hour!  Well mother nature had a different idea.  We had an ice storm.  I got to give Megan lunch for one of her gifts and then they went to Meg's house and her girlfriends in the neighborhood came over and they had dinner and spent most of the night there.  They said they had a really great time!  What a great birthday Megan had.  Megan wrapped up the evening with dinner with her hubby at Capitol Grille!!  What a fantastic weekend she had.

Happy Birthday again Megs!!  Love you!!

My Day with Owen!

Today Jenny, Kevin, John, Megan, Ken and a group of their friends went to a Checkers Hockey Game today.  Owen got to spend the day with Nana!  What a great time we had.  First we played with all the toys he has at my house and when I say all the toys I mean all the toys-LOL!!  Then we got in the car and drove to Cottage Yarn to see the owner, Sara.  She has known Owen since he was born and hadn't seen him in quite awhile so we stopped to chat for a bit.  Then we grabbed some lunch and headed home to eat it.  The picture is of Owen feeing himself.  Then we watched a little TV.  Owen loved HGTV!!  He even tries to talk to the people on there-LOL!!  Then I could tell it was nap time, so he cuddled up with me under a fleece blanket and he feel asleep almost immediately.  I guess being full with food, milk and love makes you sleep really well.  Well guess what I fell asleep too!!  When he woke up 1.5 hours later I was already awake and ready for round two!!  He played with all of his toys again while watching HGTV.  Then Mommy and Daddy came home with Papa.  We visited a little more and then they headed on home.  What  a wonderful day!  Memory maker!!

Hope everyone is staying warm and having a great weekend!

Snow, Sleet and Freezing Rain!

(Photo via google.com)
This is the first time this winter I hope we have bad weather!!  You say what in the world is wrong with her!  Well tomorrow is Friday and I would love to have an R and R day tomorrow!  It would also be awesome to have an unexpected 3-day weekend!  It probably won't happen but it is nice to dream.  I would love to just sit and cuddle up under a nice fleece blanket, with my hot tea and my book or knitting.  Doesn't that sound great!

I want it all cleared up though by Saturday, because I'm suppose to watch Owen for part of the day on Saturday.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!

This weekend was made for relaxing!

This has been the first weekend since we moved in the house (the week after Thanksgiving) that John and I didn't have anything planned for either day!  It was so nice to just do whatever we wanted to do.  We were going to a hang a few more pictures and some more curtain but we decided we needed a "us" weekend instead.  We both really enjoyed doing that.  I am happy to say I am binding off the shawl I have been working on for me!  I finally got enough time to sit down and work on it and I enjoyed every minute of it!  I got some reading in too.  I started reading Wild, which about a woman who trekked the Pacific Crest Trail in California all by herself.  I am really enjoying it! Yesterday I did go knit with my knitting ladies and while everyone was not there, we had a really enjoyable afternoon!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend too!

It is freezing cold here today and it is only going to get colder!  Keep warm!!

I hope to post more this year!

I was looking at my blog and I realized I have really missed blogging here as much as I used to.  2012 was quite the busy year for me.  With the 3 moves in one year, building the new house, work being exceptionally crazy, and just life in general that really has left me much time to be as creative as I usually am.  I plan on changing that.  I am going to try and post everyday or atleast every other day.  I really miss this journalling of sorts.  I will also be doing alot of things to our new home in the next coming months.  I have more painting to do, gardens to start up, curtains to purchase and hang, photo walls to create, etc., etc.  I would love nothing more than to take you on the "ride" with me!  I have made some wonderful cyber friendships and I have actually met some of my cyber friends in real life!  So now that I have said all this, I hope to be seeing alot more of all of you!

Everyone have an awesome day!!

Planning for our summer vacation.

John and I would like to go away for a few days in early summer.  We were thinking of going to Water's Edge Inn in Folly Beach, SC.  It is absolutely beautiful there.  We have never been to Folly Beach, but we have been a few times to Charleston and love it.  We would have to go early in the season before it gets too hot.  We were thinking of staying 2 nights and then going to the Charleston Aquarium on the 3rd day before we head on home.  Just in the dream stages right now, but it would be great if we could go!

Painting the Dining Room

The other day I was looking at some Valspar colors for the Dining Room, Living Room, Kitchen, eating area and our bedroom.  The color I picked out for the Dining Room was a really pretty color green called Berlin. I woke up late around 9:30 today, got cleaned up and went to Lowes.  I picked up a gallon of Berlin and came home.  I cut in around the door and window openings and crown molding around the ceiling.  John came home from work (he was putting some overtime in) and he rolled the walls for me.  It turned out really beautiful!!  Here are 3 photos of the room.  I will take some more photos tomorrow when the daylight comes through the window in there.  I am also going to try and convince John to help me put up the curtain rods and hang the curtains for that room.
