Marley & Me, the movie
John and I are probably 2 of the last people on earth who hadn't seen Marley & Me. I was reluctant to watch this movie because I had heard you would cry at the end and I knew what that probably meant. We watched the movie and what a wondeful story! I know the ending is sad but the whole movie was very enjoyable. As if on queue Teddy, our 2 yr. old Golden Retriever jumped up on the bed at the end of the movie and tried to lick my tears away!! He could sense I was upset about something and wanted to make everything better, which made me cry even harder!! I know that is silly and some people would say it is only a movie but that movie showed what people who truly love dogs feels like about their pets. I would highly recommend this movie but bring the tissues with you!
I just saw that movie this past weekend and LOVED it. I cried my eyes out at the end. We experienced the same "ending" with our 12 year old dog, Maxine, last May and it was very difficult to see it all over again, but a truly heartwarming movie!
ReplyDeleteWe lost our dog of 11 1/2 yrs. 1 year ago and I kept thinking of her too throughout the movie. It's too bad animals don't live as long as we do!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched it or read the book for just that reason. Why do all animal stories have sad endings.

Somebody told me that they read the book and was so glued to it that they took it with them to work and kept reading when the light was red. I haven't seen the movie yet. I shall add it to our list.
ReplyDeleteStill haven't seen it and I hate sad endings, so not sure I'm up to it now LOL!
