My first time at IKEA
Last night after work I met Jenny at IKEA here in Charlotte. I have never been to an IKEA store and I was pretty impressed with some of the things they had. I got a great buy on a queen-size duvet cover for the master bedroom and it was only $14.99. It was originally $29.99, which is a great price before the sale. I picked up 2 containers to store pasta, a rattle for the impending grandbaby in August, a candle and 4 rolls of wrapping paper. I could have bought some more things but that was as far as the $$ would go that visit! Jenny and I ate our dinner there too. I had the swedish meatball dinner, which was really yummy! I love the Lingonberry sauce they serve with it too! I didn't realized you could buy Swedish food there too! What an awful lot of things under one roof! I will definitely be going back when I need some more things. It was also a great way to spend time with Jenny!
Sherri, I was going to ask you on FB if you had the Swedish Meatballs for dinner, lol : ) Isn't IKEA fun? I haven't been there in a couple of years because the closest one is two hours away. Maybe I'll grab a couple of friends and make a trip in the next month or two. I had great luck with their boxes of candles (24 tapers I think). Also, picture frames and kitchen gadgets. It's a great place to spend a few hours or more.
ReplyDeleteThe closest one for me is in Chicago and I have never visited. Sounds like the prices are right.

I haven't been to Ikea in years! It's an hour and a half away and we've been wanting to make a visit. I love their cafe and they have wonderful swedish coffee. Glad that you had fun and I bet you'll be back there more often!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherri
ReplyDeleteI love IKEA too. We used to live in Toronto and there were several IKEA stores there. When our kids were younger all their bedroom furniture was from there. I am so glad we finally have one here in Charlotte. Hope you had a great Christmas!

I LOVE IKEA!!! There's always something to buy and of course there's an excuse to have the meatball dinner!

I haven't been there yet, but I have heard that they have a delicious chocolate cake. It sounds like they sell all sorts of things.
ReplyDeleteSherri, I love your new look... very pretty, perfect for this season of the year.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun at IKEA!
Ah yes Ikea, I used to worship at a local one until I moved here! It is a great store, my fave part is the Marketplace area. However a warning for you and Jenny. If you ever WANT a quickie divorce, buy an Ikea flat-pack item and then try to follow their instructions and put it together with your husband. Guaranteed dischord!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had Ikea in Hawaii. I sure did love that store in Chicago. It was always such fun to go there.
