Knitting Group was wonderful
Last night I went to a knitting group in the little town of Mint Hill, NC. Well it isn't a tiny town, but not as big as Charlotte. There was alot of woman there knitting away when I arrived. It takes me about 1 hour to get there from work. It was well worth the ride though. This knitting group meeting in a yarn shop and they knit, chat, snack, swap patterns and just plain enjoy each others company! I will definitely be going back again on Tuesday! They meet every Tuesday and on 1 Sunday a month. With John working some nights this is a great way for me to get to know other knitters. I also bought a knitting book while I was there and I can't wait to start knitting one of the fancy lacy scarves and a sweater I have decided to knit and give as a Christmas gift!
How wonderful Sherri! There's a group that meets here once a week I think it is and I keep meaning to go. I think it would be great fun. I have so many knitting/crocheting projects on the go that I certainly have no shortage of things to work on.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! When did you re-do your blog? It looks great!
ReplyDeleteI think the knit group sounds really nice. You've inspired me to start thinking about gifts for Christmas.
Hi Sherri, Glad you are enjoying your knitting group. It's good to meet others with similar interests. Hand knitted things make great gifts and you are so organized thinking of Christmas already. I enjoyed the beautiful pictures from your previous post too.

ReplyDeleteSounds like alot of fun, like my quilting and book clubs, so important.
I sure do wish I could knit but I guess knitted things aren't used much in Hawaii. I just love seeing what you do. You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, to socialize and knit! It sounds like a relaxing way to spend an evening!

I tried classes last winter but just couldn't get the hang of it. Some kind of mental block thing:)

Hi Sherri,
ReplyDeleteWow I love the name of the town, "Mint Hill". I collect names like that to use in my paintings. I love to knit too!
Hugs,
Cathie
I would love to be close enough to do that. I hope you will continue to go and have a wonderful time. I always enjoy seeing what other women are working on. Love & blessings from NC!
