I finished decorating the mantel the other day but it was raining and the room was dark. I decided to wait until a sunny day to take a picture of it. Well here it is:
Now for the sock part of the title of this post. I haven't finished the socks but I thought I would give you a glimpse of what I've been working on.
Here is what I've got done so far!
This is a closeup of the top of the sock.
Here's the bottom half.
I will post the pair when I have them completed.
Everyone have a great evening!!
You have been busy! Mantel looks great and sock nice and warm:)
ReplyDeleteI love all the pumpkins and the little ghost. Your sock looks good. Have you made socks before? I hear they're rather hard to do.
ReplyDeleteI love the mantel and the pumpkins, but mostly, the SOCKS! What a labor of love.....be sure to show us the results....and you totally made my day finding the mag at chez Target! xxoo A
ReplyDeleteDonnie-I have never made socks before and what a time I had because of my lack of concentration after my car accident! Now that I can concentrate I think I would not have had as much of a problem. I don't use double pointed needles I used 1 circular needle and the "magic loop" method.
ReplyDeleteYour mantle looks wonderful, Sherri!
ReplyDeleteI know your socks are going to turn out just perfect.
Hugs,
Donna
Your mantle looks great Sherri! Maybe I'll add a few more items to my mantle to "Fall" it up.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could make socks!!!

Your mantle looks so pretty! It is all arranged so nice with your pumpkins and the little ghost!
ReplyDeleteYour socks are coming along and I love the soft blue! My mom used to knit....I never did learn! It always looked so hard!
Hugs, Carolyn ~ Cottage Sunshine
Your mantel looks great... wonderful fall decorations, Sherri! How wonderful to be able to knit your own socks... they look so cozy... perfect for fall and winter. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
~ Jo :)
I love the pretty things you arranged on your mantel! What a cute ghost! Love the color of your yarn for the socks, too! Enjoy your weekend! ♥
ReplyDeleteIt just always surprises me what you can do with a pair of knitting needles!
ReplyDeleteLove the mantel! I guess it is getting time to try knitting again. I try every year and have never succeeded in anything but a couple of scarves. Still, it is a calming activity, and maybe one day I'll learn to follow a pattern!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks great and I especially love your socks you are making. I would love to make some socks too. Love & blessings from NC!
