I have always loved porch swings!
I have always loved porch swings, even as a child. I just love the motion of swinging on one whether to read, sleep, knit or just sip tea on a warm Southern day. When we had our farm in NJ we had a huge porch and we had a porch swing. I would spend many hours swinging on that porch. After I worked in the garden or worked with the horses that would be where you would find me sipping my tea and looking at my Victoria magazine. I would read to the girls there when they were smaller. Now that John and I are looking for a new house to rent, I have been hoping we get a house with a porch so we can have a porch swing again. The other day he called me and told me to look at a specific house online, which had a porch and a porch swing! We are still waiting to see if it is available. There are so many different kinds of porch swings now. I went online and found a few that I thought were really nice and I thought I would share them with all of you:
I just love white porch swings and this one has the wonderful blue pillows and cushion. Just beautiful and so relaxing looking!
This aqua or turquoise blue porch swing reminds me of the islands! I can definitely pick myself on this one!
Who wouldn't want to welcome the sunset (or sunrise as far as that goes) while swinging on this lovely swing! I'm there!!
For a more rustic swing I would choose this one with it's red and blue pillows and patriotic throw!
Every Victorian house that has a wonderful porch should have a beautiful porch swing. I like the fact this home owner used vibrant colored pillows with all the white. So pretty!

Hope you enjoyed all the porch swings and I hope that the new house we rent will have a lovely porch or verdanda and we will once again have our porch swing! Everyone have a wonderful day!
I hope you get your porch so we can enjoy swinging on it with you. Lovely ppost.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your porch so you can have a swing too! I love swings as well. We have a swing out in back but we have no porch. Buddy used to love laying on it while I was reading. I'm hoping Sammy will like it too.
ReplyDeleteps- I'd take any of those swings especially ones with a view. It's about 20 below zero here. Brrrrrrr!!!
Oh I love porch swings, they're not a big thing in the UK so you don't see them very often,

I hope you find the perfect home with the perfect porch!
ReplyDeleteI love front porches and porch swings. They remind me of my Grandmother, and the afternoons swinging and imagining. Hope you can get your porch and swing, Sherri.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed every one of the porch swing pictures, Sherri. Being from the South, I'm a firm believer in the fact that you can't have a porch and not have a swing. ;)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your blog banner is gorgeous! It merrily sings of spring.
I hope you'll join me for "Funny Faux Pas Follies." It will be a barrel of fun.
Blessings,

Oh I do too. But first and most important, I need a porch! My next house, I keep say that but this time I mean it!
ReplyDeleteMy parent's mountain house and my sister's mountain house have porch swings. I love them too and so do my girls. As children, they spent many hours in the porch swing at my parent's house, swinging and reading books and magazines. Hope you find the perfect house! Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteOh I love them too and have always wished to have one! :-)
ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your blog today and what a beautiful surprise! I absolutely love the porch swings! I'll be back often as I'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteSherri - these are wonderful photos! I think there is a love of porch swings in all of us! Makes me want to be on one right now - with a summer breeze blowing. Thanks for taking me to a happy place.

This is so cool! I just wish I could have a porch to hang one in. I've seen them in movies and wished I could have one too.
