Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and My Family

We celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday afternoon and evening. Jenny had to work on Sunday so Saturday worked out better. Saturday morning John and I went to breakfast at a little place called Skillets. After we were done eating we decided to go to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. We love going there. Megan and Ken had given us a year pass there. Here are some photos I took of the flowers and fountains at the garden:

This was a tree stump and they made it into a planter. I love it!

This is one of the statues in the garden. This one is called the Child of Peace. It is really gorgeous!

I found just the right angle to take a photo of this fountain and to also have the bird in flight cutout in it too!

One of my favorite flowers-the hydrangea.

This is a small magnolia. I just love them!

This smoke tree is a plum color and it was just gorgeous!!

This lily looked so fragile swaying in the breeze. It is so graceful.

This is a milk thistle. They are really prickly but their flower is just gorgeous!

Spiderwort grows all over the garden. Just so beautiful. After we left the DSBG we came home for about an hour and then we headed to Megan and Ken's. They made a wonderful dinner. Leg of Lamb on the grill, hot German potato salad and Jenny made Cheesy Zucchini. Megan made a beautiful cake with handmade hydrangeas on it-just gorgeous! I should have taken a photo of it when Megan posts it on her facebook page. Didn't get a photo before we ate it! Jenny, Kevin and Owen joined us and we had a great time. Owen-he just steals my heart every time I see him-that little cutie pie! I hope all my mother friends had a wonderful Mother's Day!
