Things are getting packed up around here!

Hi Everyone!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!  It is sunny and 70 degrees here in Stallings, NC.  I ate my lunch out on the patio!  I have purple hyacinths on my picnic table and the smell was heavenly!

I have been packing up a storm.  There is about 5 weeks until the closing and move.  The living room is almost all done.  The movers are not going to love me with my book collection-so heavy!  It is looking rather bare around here.  I even organized the garage about 80% of the space.  I have been looking on Pinterest for ideas for the kitchen renovation.  All the next pictures are from Pinterest (want to give them the credit).  Here are some of my ideas!

I would love to have white subway tiles with this grid done under this wonderful wood hood/vent.

I love this open shelf under the upper cabinets

The cabinets will be white shaker.  I love these handles also!

I have this in my house now and love it!
So that is what I have been up to lately.  I love to dream about how the house is going to look when it is all done!  It will take a while because the contractor can't start the kitchen area until mid-summer but it will look lovely for the Fall and the holidays!
Everyone have a lovely day!

White Subway Tile is what I would love.  So clean.
I would love a pantry like this.

This farmhouse sink caught my eye.  Simple but wonderful!

The island below is actually not for the kitchen but the Butler's Pantry area.  I will use it to craft, fold laundry, etc.

I would love this pullout for all my baking sheets and pizza stones

New News - I'm Moving to South Carolina!

Hi Everyone!  I hope you all are having a wonderful day today!  I have some happy news - I am moving to SC to be closer to my kids and grandsons!  I had been eyeing a house in Lake City, SC for some time on Realtor.com.  The price was dropped and I went and looked at it.  I love it!  I made an offer that day and after some intense negotiation, I GOT IT!!  I came home and put my house on the market and it went under contract after 3 days!  I've had the home inspection at the new house and there are a few things that need to be taken care of (the house was built in 1979).  The inspection was done on my house today and the appraisal will be done tomorrow.  I have a March 31st closing date on my house, the new house will be right after that.  So many things to think about, but I'm not letting it get to me.  Here are some photos of the new house:

This is the front of the house.

This is the driveway side of the house.

This is the back of the house.  The lens the photographer makes this view look huge!  The house is a normal sized house.  There is a breezeway to the 3 car garage.  The garage has a room over it.  I'm going to use that as my studio (stained glass, painting, refinishing furniture, etc.).

This is the den.  It is in the back of the house.  I love the big fireplace in here.  Should be nice and cozy on a chilly winter day!
This is also the den, but there are French doors that go out to the screened in porch.  I love the screened in porch's floor-it's brick!!
This is the view from the den into the backyard.  I don't know why the previous owner has a brass chandelier in here, that will have to be replaced.  I will be replacing those lovely curtains too!!  I am going to paint the wainscoting and the trim bright white.  Not sure what color I'm going to paint the walls.  Something that isn't yellow will definitely be chosen :)!!

This is the Dining Room, which is the front of the house.  When you walk through the front door, the Dining Room is to the right off of the foyer.  It will be nice to have a dining room again!
This is the back part of the living.  You can also access the screened in porch from this room.  There is a little fireplace in here also.  It is across from this couch.  I just love the layout of all the rooms.
This is the Master Bedroom.  Carpet and cornices will be going.  Hoping there is hardwood floors under this awful carpet, but if not I may just recarpet with a lighter, fresh color.

The other two bedrooms carpet has to go also!  It is that lovely 70's/80's turquoise color!!  One room has terrible pink (really bright) wallpaper which will also be going.  All the rooms have walk-in closets which is a plus!

I will also be redoing the bathrooms (2.5 baths) and the kitchen needs a complete overall.  I love redoing rooms, so I am really excited to do this!  I just love having projects to do!  I am already on Pinterest almost everyday looking for ideas and wall colors.  I am going to take some of the colors from here and use them in the new house.  The colors in my existing house are so soothing and relaxing.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed that everything goes through and smoothly!  Have a wonderful day and stay warm!!
