Some wonderful ideas for the 4th of July!

The 4th of July always makes me think of summer picnics, visiting with friends or relatives, feeling very proud of being an American, swimming, playing patriotic music, parades and having a 3-day weekend. This year will be a quiet one for John and I. We really don't have anything planned. I was cruising around Martha Stewarts site again and I found some really lovely things and I might give some of them a try. Here is what I found (pictures are all from Marthastewart.com):

I have always loved this picture on Martha's site of this stars and stripes gazebo. It is lovely!

Very festive table settings! I love them!

If I had a picket fence, I would definitely drape either flags made of paper or some kind of red, white and blue garland on there!

This project is one of my favorites and I just might have to try that this weekend! I love the simple doormat and the container filled with flags! I have a crock that would be perfect for the little flags I have!

How easy is this centerpiece-jars, sand and red, white and blue starburst! How fun would this be to make with your kids or grandkids!

Everyone please remember our troops and those that are serving our country for our freedom or who have served! So what is everyone doing for the 4th?

You make me want to decorate for the 4th. Guess all I will do is stick my flags out in the two flower pots by my front steps and perhaps a bow or two here and there.

Ring of Kerry, Ireland
My husband, John and I went to Ireland for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2004. We had an awesome trip and we will never forget it. We actually got to visit our friends who live in Northern Ireland. We spent 3 wonderful days with them! The picture above was taken when we visited The Ring of Kerry. The beauty of Ireland is just spectacular! If you ever get a chance visit there.
Megan is my oldest daughter. She and Ken were married on April 12, 2008. It was a wonderful ceremony and reception!
Jenny and Kevin at their wedding 8/30/08. The wedding was at our home and turned out wonderful! Everyone had such a good time!
