Dr. Appt. Not So Great Today!

I have been having problems with my left foot swelling up so much I can't bend my ankle. Today it started swelling all the way up to my knee. I called the Dr. and got an appointment for this afternoon. He ruled out my heart, a break and a few other things. I mentioned to the Dr. I had found a tick attached to my scalp. He looked at the area where the tick bit me and told me the head was removed but there was a ring around the area like a bullseye. Guess who is on a major antibiotic because of Lyme's Disease-you win the prize if you said Sherri! My joints are hurting and I'm so tired. I am also running a fever. Lucky me! My Dr. then sent me to CMC Hospital in Pineville for a venus doppler. He wanted to make sure I didn't have a blood clot. I DO NOT have one -thank goodness!! My technician, Brenda was wonderful even though she had to push so hard I thought I was going to jump off the table!! Needless to say no moving boxes this weekend or anytime soon for that matter. I will be on the sofa with my leg up and resting. I am pretty sure I just did too much in the move this time. When we moved to the house in October, we will definitely be hiring someone to move our things. Hopefully my meds will give me some relief from this pain and swelling. I'm glad I went to the Dr. today and the Lyme's Disease was caught early!! Everyone take care!!

You are very, very lucky it was caught so soon. There are real horror stories out there about Lyme Disease. I have a friend whose husband lost much of his memory because of it. It is a dreadful disease.

Sherri dear, I'm so sorry you have this going on, but thankful it has been discovered early enough to get the correct treatment - it can be such a nasty illness with long term disability without the proper care. Rest and let others do the lifting, moving etc., you really need to take life easy for a while.

I'm always nervous of ticks here in the South and make sure to examine myself after being in the garden or walking the woods. Also other things, such as a rather large snake the neighbors discovered in my garden whilst I was away.....but hasn't shown itself to me yet. Is it a copperhead or just a good old brown snake? You'd laugh if you could see me tiptoeing around the shrubs ready to scream bloody murder if it pops out!!!!

Rest dear one and get well........good health is so important and we all want you to feel better very soon.
Hugs - Mary

Oh, Sherri! You will really have to take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. I'll keep you in healing thoughts. Forget about the move and all that goes with it for a while and concentrate on recovery.

Sherri!!!!!!
We are so glad it wasn't a clot, or your heart! Ticks were so bad last year, we'll have to make sure that we check and check! Glad they found out what was wrong....now think of all of the reading and knitting you can do this weekend while you rest girlfriend!!

By the way we are swooning over sleeping porches too....sigh!

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this awful thing, Sherri. I hope you can heal quickly. And yes, definitely hire someone to do the move! Definitely!!!

Thanks so much for visiting and commenting when I was away. My life is so crazy these days with finishing my blog posts, getting ready for my daughter's visit and working on the travel photo album for my mom. Sigh.... I should be back to normal by June. I hope.

Ring of Kerry, Ireland
My husband, John and I went to Ireland for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2004. We had an awesome trip and we will never forget it. We actually got to visit our friends who live in Northern Ireland. We spent 3 wonderful days with them! The picture above was taken when we visited The Ring of Kerry. The beauty of Ireland is just spectacular! If you ever get a chance visit there.
Megan is my oldest daughter. She and Ken were married on April 12, 2008. It was a wonderful ceremony and reception!
Jenny and Kevin at their wedding 8/30/08. The wedding was at our home and turned out wonderful! Everyone had such a good time!
