This Year is Coming to an End
Well 2012 has been a really busy year for our family! We have had many changes in our lives. They have all been good changes.
1. We started out 2012 in February by signing the contract on the new house we are now living in! We were so excited about building a new house in a new town. We moved in our new house in November and love, love, love it!!
2. We found out during the year that Jenny, our youngest daughter and her husband, Kevin were expecting their second child in April of 2012! What wonderful news!! Owen needs a little brother-they will be naming him Jack.
3. The end of October we moved in with Megan and Ken for 1 month while our house was being built. John and I were very appreciative of Megan and ken's hospitality!
4. We had a wonderful visit from my parents in the beginning of December. My parents had not seen Owen since he was 9 months old. What a great visit we all had with them. My parents really loved the new house.
There were many other things that happened in our family during the year, but these were a few of the highlights. We are all looking forward to 2013! Hopefully it will be as good as 2012 was.
Happy New Year Everyone!!

What a Great Christmas!!
All the presents have been unwrapped, visiting for Christmas is done, Christmas dishes are packed away for next year and now comes the time of relaxing a little! Christmas Eve we had dinner at Jenny and Kevin's house and then we went to the 11:00 p.m. service at our Church. Christmas morning everyone arrived around 9:30 and then it was present opening galore!! What fun we all had watching Owen open his gifts. He loved every one of them. Poor little thing has a really bad cold though! Santa was very good to everyone at our house! I spoke with my parents and sisters and they all had a great holiday too! They had a white Christmas in northwestern NJ! Today they are suppose to get even more snow.
I hope all of you had a really great Christmas too! Over the weekend I will be de-Christmasing (if that's even a word) at our house. I am already starting to think about paint colors for some of the rooms. January 13th I'm having my knitting group over to the house for a small housewarming party-so I want to get as much done as possible for that!
Everyone have a great day!

Almost done with the Shopping!
Hi Everyone! I have been busy, busy, busy this holiday season as usual! The visit from my parents threw some of my Christmas shopping off, but I have managed to still get almost all of the shopping done. I have a few more things to get-nothing really big just a few more small things and the Christmas dinner shopping but then I'm done. I have to say with all the moving, visits, etc. going on in John and my life, I think we have been able to enjoy the season maybe even more than we have in the past!! That is a Christmas miracle in itself-LOL!!
I hope how ever you are celebrating the holiday season that you take time to relax and enjoy your surroundings!! For all of you who are traveling-be safe! ENJOY!!!

What a great weekend!
My parents arrived on Friday around 11 and stayed until this morning around 8:15. We had such a wonderful visit. They loved our new house and was just so happy to see us all especially Owen! They hadn't seen him since he was 9 months old (he is now 17 months). We went shopping, had lunch out on Friday, breakfast out on Sunday (all 9 of us!!), visited and just plain relaxed and chatted. It was really great! My Dad's hand and elbow is doing really good from his surgery. He is able to open and close his fingers now! It looks very ugly, but he is healing very nicely. Late Friday afternoon Jenny and Kevin dropped Owen off because they were going to Kevin's office Christmas party. We had him overnight. They came to visit around 10:00 on Saturday. Megan and Ken came over on Friday night to visit and they came on Sunday too. This was probably the best visit we all have ever had!
I had Ken, my son-in-law and Megan's husband take a 4 generation picture. Here it is:
We were all laughing so hard for this picture because Owen would sit still so John kept lifting up his vest over his shirt and Owen thought that was just hysterical!! We all did too!
Fun times, many great memories!!

The Parents are arriving Tomorrow!
I won't be posting until Monday. My parents are arriving from New Jersey sometime tomorrow. We have lots of things planned and will be busy, busy, busy! We are going to a Christmas Shop in Matthews, NC (near our new house), Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens to see the Christmas lights, visiting with Owen, Jenny, Kevin, Megan and Ken, having breakfast/brunch out (hopefully), going to some local shops and just plain relaxing and catching up. My parents have decided to do the trip in 2 days. With my Dad just having the arm surgery and the 11 hour trip from NJ they needed to break it up into 2 days. It will be wonderful to see them, it has been a long time (4th of July weekend was the last time we visited them). I can't wait for them to see the house-I'm sure they will love it!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I'll see you Monday!

Here are the long awaited pictures of the new house inside!
Everyone has been saying they can't wait to see pictures of the inside of the house, well here they are! Well the first floor anyway.
Come inside and take the tour!
First look at the old sled and skates I put on the porch.
This is the Dining Room from the front hallway.
This is our console table with one of my favorite oil paintings we have. This is in the front hallway. I need to have John lower the picture though, he hung it too high.
This is an upclose shot of the Butler's Pantry. I love having this again!!

Getting ready to decorate for Christmas!
(Photo via Pinterest)
Last night after work John and I had dinner and then the unpacking commenced. John decided he wanted to start putting the Christmas tree up. We have an artificial tree, but this will probably be the last year we use it. The tree is over 10' tall and is just so heavy! John started with the bottom section of the tree but we decided it was just too full and big for the area we are putting up the tree. So we decided to skip the bottom section and only use the next 4 sections. That worked better! It is really exciting for us to be decorating the new house for our first Christmas in our new house!! I probably won't start until Friday night hanging up the Christmas/Winter pictures and getting out all the Christmas decorations we've collected over the 33 years we've been married. It is so much fun-I love this time of year!!

Taking the Night Off
I took the night off from unpacking last night. I made an apple crisp for the office and then watched TV with John. It felt really good to just relax and take it easy! Tonight I will be taking the night off too! I'm going to knit with my knitting group. I miss going and hanging out with my knitting girls! The boxes will still be there tomorrow night and sometimes you just need a break!!

Alot of broken dishes and alot of tears!
I am sorry to say alot of my platters from Maine, bowls, pottery and some of John's great grandmothers china got broken in the move. It wasn't the movers we had this time, it was the movers that helped John move everything into the storage space. The last movers told us they were hearing alot of broken pieces of things rattling in the boxes and didn't want to get blamed for it. I think I am the most upset about the huge platter I had bought in Booth Bay, Maine that had handpainted lupines on it!! John and I rented a house from our friend in East Booth Bay and we were there for an entire week checking out all the potters in the area. We had such a wonderful vacation, such lovely memories. I don't know if we will ever get back there again. Thank goodness my 2 boxes of Green Depression Glass that I have collected over years and years came through unscathed. I could tell by the way everything was broken that the movers had just dropped the boxes straight down. I guess they also didn't see that I had written FRAGILE in huge letters and put orange stickers that said FRAGILE all of these boxes. I was able to glue with Loc-Tite my pottery utensil holder that I bought in Sea Grove, NC back together! Nothing else was salvageable though. I am glad this is hopefully one of our last moves because every time we move there is something else broken, but this time was the worst!!
Sorry to sound so down after being so happy with our house and living here, but these things had meaning to us and when that is gone it is just hard.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

We are in and getting settled!
Wednesday at 2 p.m. we closed on our new house. Thursday at 8 a.m. the movers arrived at the Storage Center to pack up all of our possessions and bring them to the new house. They left our house last night at 7:00 p.m.!! The worked the entire day moving everything we have here. I started unpacking as they were bringing boxes over until about 10:00 p.m. I woke up today at 5:30 a.m. and started right at the boxes, especially the kitchen boxes. John and I decided to quit work at 8:00 p.m. tonight. We are sore, tired and need some relaxation. Tomorrow we will start working on the other boxes in the garage and getting the loft area situated. The house has been a delight to set up-we really love living here! It is alot of work and there is alot more to do but it is all worth it!!

Tomorrow is the Day!!!
Tomorrow is the closing on our new house!! I know you all are probably so tired of hearing this, but is is a really big deal to John and I!! We haven't owned a home in about 4 yrs. I cannot wait to unpack and decorate. Some of our things have been all boxed up for 3 yrs. It will be like old friends coming out of the boxes! As you can tell we are over the moon!!

Just Chillin'
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and now we are just resting up before our big move on Thursday! Yesterday I got up really late, Megan and Ken took us out to brunch, then we just came home and chilled out. After a few hours of reading, I headed over to our local yarn shop in Mint Hill to knit with some of my knitting buddies. We recapped our Thanksgiving and knitted to our hearts content! I came home and after knitting some more John, Ken and I had Thanksgiving items for dinner. Megan got home around 9:15 and then we chilled and chatted some more.
Here is one of my favorite Thanksgiving photos that was taken this year:
Owen was go, go, go and then he got so tired. I brought him up on my lap and we were watching the parade and off he went to Dreamland-LOL!!!
Today John is going to help me get my jewelry making Rubbermaid tubs out and I'll be creating some sparklies! I have a necklace I need to make for a customer and I have to start thinking about making my Mom something for Christmas. I didn't make her any jewelry for her birthday in October and she was disappointed! I'm also making dinner tonight since Megan has to work 9-3. This will be our last weekend at Megan and Ken's and it is so nice to have just a chillin' one!!
Hope everyone is having a great holiday so far!

Saturday-Visit to Black Mountain, NC
Saturday at 9 a.m. my 5 knitting friends (Pam, Peggy, Betty, Debbie and Patty) left Mint Hill, NC and drove the 2 hours and 15 minutes to Black Mountain, NC. Betty told us there was a really good yarn shop there and we should all take a trip so we did! What fun we had!!
We had lunch at a little place in Black Mountain and the food was so good! Debbie's sisters, Laurie and Laurie's friend, Chris met us at the restaurant and had lunch with us. Debbie's sister lives near Boone, NC. After lunch we walked over to the Black Mountain Yarn Shop and did we have fun there! I bought 630 yds. of Tencel yarn, which I will be making a lovely Spring shawl for myself. The colors in the yarn reminded me of Monet's waterlilies!! So very beautiful! I also bought some mohair mix yarn and I'll be making a scarf with these 2 skeins mixed with winter white yarn. Should be really beautiful. We were at the yarn shop for about 1.5 hrs. oohhhhing and ahhhhhhing! After that we went to a few other little shops that sold pottery, handwoven items, handmade jewelry, blown glass, etc. We really could have spent the weekend there but alas 3:30 arrived. We piled back in Pam's vehicle and headed back to Mint Hill. I arrived back at Megan and Ken's around 5:45.
What a wonderful day and what wonderful company!!!
Here are some photos of the day:
Peggy, has her shawl on and was looking at a lovely poncho another woman had on. We didn't know the woman but we did love her handiwork! This photo was taken in the Black Mountain Yarn Shop.
Here are 2 of my knitting friends while we were waiting for our lunch to arrive. Pam is on the left and Debbie is on the right.
Here is Peggy, another of my knitting friends. Chris, that came and had lunch with us brought a gift for Peggy. It was a hand knitted shawl she had made. It looked beautiful on Peggy with her basic black top!!
What a wonderful day and what wonderful memories we all will have! Thanks girls!!

We have sod!!!
Megan just sent me a text with this picture attached. We have sod!!! The porch posts and railings are up too! They need to be painted yet, which I guess will happen tomorrow. What a difference landscaping makes! Can't wait to live there!!
I'm still here just swamped with work and the new house!!
I am sorry I have been a really bad blogger lately. My life has become even busier than normal!
1. We are now living with our oldest daughter, Megan and her husband, Ken until the house is done and we move in on 11/29. Everything is going really great! I really feel at home at their house and it is definitely much more enjoyable than the apartment. Teddy is really enjoying it alot more too! We have fun creating meals together, planning menus for the week, chatting, going out to dinner, etc. They are wonderful!!
2. The move from the apartment was a little stressful and nerve wracking! We had to end up moving the apartment on a Saturday and the garage on a Tuesday. The movers we used were slow and everything had to be taken over to a storage unit and it happened to be on the second floor of the storage place. Which meant that everything had to be taken up in a freight elevator!!! Just a side note we are not moving ourselves with help this time to the new house, we have hired a moving company to do the whole thing-YAY!!!
3. My job has sifted into a higher gear than it was before. I have one project manager that has not been very great to work with. He is demanding and is demanding that I do his work only and not the other 8 Project Managers I work for. I finally had to talk to my boss, who is the Owner of the Company this morning. He said he has talked to him twice and may just have to let him go because not only is he driving me crazy, he is making his Superintendent on the project and all his Subcontractors crazy. He is one crazy man!! I'm glad my boss knew all about it before I had to go into too much detail!
Well that is about all there is to tell everyone right now, except that the new house is just gorgeous and John and I are counting the days until we move in!!! We have alot to be thankful and will have a great Thanksgiving with our entire family here in NC!! Life doesn't get better than this!!

We are getting close!!
The builder sent us an email on Thursday, we are closing on our new house on 11/28!! Here are some photos I took yesterday after we got back from our trip to the mountains of Virginia.
Almost done on the front. The porch posts need to be completed and the railing and spindles need to be added.
Stable garage door.
I couldn't believe how big the kitchen is! This looks really small in the photo compared to standing in the room.
Stone work being put on for the front of the house.
We are almost there!!!

A Little Bit of Everything!!
Saturday John and I moved with the help of 2 wonderful moving men!! They were absolutely wonderful! Unfortunately they ran out of time, so tomorrow John will be moving boxes out of the apartment garage to the storage unit with the help of the same 2 wonderful moving men. We are all settled in at Megan and Ken's. It is so nice to be out of the apartment and back into a house again. Teddy is so much happier, even though he is a little confused. He thinks we are just visiting Megan and Ken and he keeps looking at us wondering when we are leaving-LOL! I also meant to say Megan help me bring some things over to her house-she was a big help. Both she and Ken are making us feel really welcome staying at their home! Thanks you two!!
Yesterday after I meet for a little while with my knitting group, I drove past our new house. Oh my goodness did they get alot done!! The siding is done, they started painting the house and trim, the inside of the house was painted white, the kitchen cabinets and granite countertops were all in, the doors were hung, the trim was done, the vanities were in, the special mouldings were done in the hall and dining room, the cubby next to the garden tub was done, the folding table in the laundry room was done, and the septic had been put in!!! What a difference 1 week made!! Here are just a few photos I took:
Sorry the pump jacks are in the picture for the front photo but they are going to be painting the house this week.
This is the color of the house with the trim being a light cream. The back of the house was already painted.
This is our kitchen-cabinets and granite countertops!!
This will help you see the color of the cabinets a little better. I love this color-so nice and warm!!
Picture framing in the Dining Room.
This is part of the backyard. They had to take some trees down for the septic and they did remove the beautiful dogwood tree that was there. I will be planting a new one in the Spring.
Yesterday Jenny, Kevin and Owen came over to Megan and Ken's neighborhood for a Halloween parade. Owen is going out for Halloween as Popeye. Here is his picture:
As you can see in this photo he wasn't a real happy camper, but right after I snapped the photo he started smiling. He has a little pipe Kevin made with a dowel and a solid block of wood for him to hold. He also carried a can of Popeye spinach!! Too funny!
Well that was about it for our weekend! I hope everyone had a good one!

The day before our Move!!
Friday, glorious Friday! Last night I think I packed everything that needed to be packed for the move to the storage unit. There are boxes all over the apartment, bags of pillows, and food all packed up to go to Megan's house for our 3-4 week duration. When we moved into the apartment 6 months ago we didn't hang any paintings, we didn't put any knick knacks out but we did unpack alot of kitchen things. I love to cook and I needed my old friends with me. I left some of the things in boxes but not many. When I started packing a week and a half ago I didn't think I had that much to pack up and get ready for the storage unit but I was wrong. My jewelry making gemstones, wire, beads, etc. all took some time because they had to be packed with much care. I had to also pack up my yarn stash, which took one whole night!! YIKES how much yarn had I bought! This chapter of our life is coming to a close and a new adventure is starting! I have to say I can't wait!! All the sacrificing we have been doing for the past few years has been totally worth it because we will be moving into our new craftsman style home that we haven't wanted for some time now!
Everyone have a great weekend and say prayers for us that the move goes smoothly!

Drywall in the new house done!
This picture isn't the greatest but atleast you can see the drywall is all done in the new house! This is a shot of the breakfast eating area (on the right) and the great room on the left. This was later in the day so you can see by all the windows and doors, we should have great light! I love that the kitchen/breakfast eating area opens into the great room! Great for entertaining and talking/visiting while I cook. Hopefully they will get the siding and shutters on this week and do some trim work. I'll keep everyone posted!

Home sick today!
I went to work yesterday even though I knew I was sick after visiting the Dr. Today I just couldn't go in. I have decided to take today and tomorrow off. I need to rest and drink plenty of fluids. I definitely would not get rest at work. I have to be all better and rested by Saturday. This is the last weekend we have to pack before the move on the 27th. I did some packing last Saturday but not nearly enough.
I hope everyone is having a great day! I'm off to make some hot tea with honey.

Well I can tell it is Fall!
Yesterday I finally broke down and went to the Dr. Every Spring and Fall I seem to be getting a cold that goes into something else. Well this Fall is no exception. I have asthmatic bronchitis again!! I am now on 3 meds. 1. Augmentin, 2. Prednisone and an inhaler. I think should just about kick that bronchitis from here to the curb!! I have already taken one round of Prednisone, 2 rounds of Augmentin and 4 puffs on the inhaler. I feel better already and I'm definitely breathing much better.
While I was at my Dr. the front desk receptionist told me they got a new computer system so I had to fill my information out all over again-just like I was a new patient! That was fun-NOT!! I was at the Drs. office because I felt crummy and now I have to sit here and fill out 5 pages of paperwork plus HIPPA information! They need to put this information on the Cloud-LOL!!

Saturday was a Cooking/Baking kind of day!
Yesterday John and I had to go to his office to fax some documents from his Notary Closing on Friday night. We decided to have breakfast at The House of Pancakes in the South Park section of Charlotte. We had never been there. I had blueberry pancakes and John and bacon pancakes, yes I said bacon pancakes!! Then we proceed to drive to Mint Hill and check out our new house. They had the whole thing insulated and drywall in every room. They will be installing the drywall tomorrow (Monday) and putting the siding on the outside this week. We are so excited!! After planning the layout of our furniture in the new house and landscaping of the outside we had to stop at Harris Teeter. While I was there I picked up apples for apple crisp, kidney beans and tomatoes for chili. When we got home I made the chili, made the apple crisp and I also decided we needed beer bread. The whole apartment smelled wonderful!!! I was sitting on the front porch knitting and my neighbor stopped by and said she smelled a roast, was I making a roast. I told her I was making chili, apple crisp and beer bread. She was so jealous, I told her I would have her and her husband down for dinner but her in-laws where in town. I didn't have enough for the whole group. Dinner at the McD's was really awesome if I must say so myself!! It was just a baking/cooking kind of day!!!
I hope you all had a great weekend!!

Pictures of Megan's Actual Costume
I was going to wait until Megan had the costume on, but I really couldn't wait to show it to all of you! It would look much better when she is wearing it, but this will give you an idea of what I have been doing!

Megan's Halloween Costume is Done!!
I don't have any pictures of the costume that I just completed for Megan, but here is the Simplicity pattern envelope. I made the one on the right. Megan found taffeta in the same color as on the pattern envelope and she even found the black and white striped material for the bustier! Someone had given her a cute little black velvet hat similar to the one in the picture too! There were alot of pieces in this pattern. I thought the bustier would be easy and then I found out there were 8 pieces of boning in it, that need 8 little sleeves sewn onto the bustier and then you slide the boning in them!!! The coat is lined and it took 4 hours to pleat the entire bottom half of the dress!! All in all I think it turned out awesome, if I may say so myself!! I will take a photo of Megan in her costume when she tries everything on and is all dressed up for her big Halloween party! Enjoy Megs!!

Leaves are Changing!!
(Photo via pinterest.com)
This weekend as John and I drove to Jenny's house in Concord we noticed the leaves are changing. The sugar maples of course are starting their usual color bloom right now! They are always the first and they are beautiful! The weather has gotten much colder here! Last week we were in the 80's and today it is 60!! It is also rainy and overcast. Those leaves will certainly start changing even more with the cooler weather.
If you live in the South, you will also see the camellias have started blooming. I love these plants!! I couldn't grow them when I lived in NJ but I have a double red one here (right now it is at Megan's house). It is loaded with buds. While this one doesn't start blooming until closer to December, it is really beautiful and looks like little cardinals on the leathery leaves. Here is a photo of one similar:

I Love Weekends!!
(Photo via pinterest.com)
I am so glad the weekend is here!! I need a break from work!! I have so much to do at home too. I decided though on Sunday, I am only going to relax and do what I want to do!!
Tonight I will be sewing away! I have the skirt to Megan's costume to make. There are also alot of pieces to this part of the costume and all the pleating to do. It will be beautiful when it is done though! After the skirt the only thing left for me to do is some last minute fittings and then it will be complete.
Tomorrow John and I will stop by the new house and check the weekly progress. Then we will head up to Jenny, Kevin and Owen's house. We are bringing up our porch plants from the apartment to stay at Jenny's until the house is done. We already have a ton of plants at Megan's. The plants that are mostly going to Jenny's are my hostas. I do however, have a huge palm tree that must really like where we live now because it has 3 huge fronds opening to make the huge palm tree even bigger!! We probably will have to use my company's truck to move that plant!
Sunday is suppose to be a really gorgeous day out. 63 degrees is suppose to be the high. I'm thinking I can sit out on the apartment porch in my comfy wicker chair and knit or read or both! I can drink my hot tea and just sit there and relax. I'm sure John will join me too! I do have to pack some things up, but I think Saturday late afternoon might be a good day for that because Sunday is going to be my rest day for a change!! I'm not even going knitting with my knitting friends!! They are all up in the mountains at a retreat anyway (I decided not to go-there is just too much going on in my life right now).
Hope y'all have a great weekend!!

Neighbors
Last night John and I had dinner with our neighbors-they live in the apartment above us. We had breakfast with them one other time. It was just a really nice and enjoyable time! They are building a house also, but won't be in their house until December 20th if they are lucky. They are building in a different town with a different builder than we are. They have 2 grown children and we have 2 grown children. They were original from PA and we were originally from northwestern NJ not far from PA. We like alot of the same things too! It just really makes you appreciate some of your neighbors and people you meet in your life.
Saturday John and I had stopped by the new house with some friends to check it out. We found out the HVAC system, plumbing, water line from the street and sewer line to the septic had been installed. When we were all done we were standing in our new front yard and a young woman pulled up in her SUV. She asked if we were the new owners and we said yes. She introduced herself as our new neighbor. She and her husband have a 15 month old little boy named Jack. He is only 5 days younger than Owen! Owen will have a nice little friend to play with when he visits us! She seemed very nice and is not liking apartment life either while she waits for her house. As we were all standing around talking another lady walked up and introduced herself as our neighbor but from the other side of the neighborhood. She was older and we also had alot in common. She knits, does a little garden and watches all the birds in the neighborhood building nests, feeding their young, etc., etc.
I told John between Saturday and last night it just makes me smile that there are so many wonderful people out there. Kind of makes you feel or warm and fuzzy!!

Another Great Weekend!!
John and I had another great weekend! Friday night after work Owen came home with me and spent a few hours with John and I. We had a blast!! He was so funny. I do have to admit he really tired us out though!
Then Saturday we went to breakfast with our friends and showed them the new house. They used to live in Mint Hill. They really liked the lot and house. We then went to Kohl's (I had to exchange some shoes). We got home and I started sewing on Meg's Halloween costume for a little while. We then went to Best Buy and John got an iphone and we went grocery shopping. Came home and made tacos for dinner and I went back to sewing and then relaxed watching TV with John.
Today we woke up later than during the week. Then I made my apple crisp recipe because Megan and Ken were coming over for dinner. I went to knit with my friends for a few hours. Came home made dressing stuffed flank steak, fresh carrots, bread and then the apple crisp with vanilla bean ice cream! We had a really nice time visiting with Ken and Megan.
We are now sitting here waiting for 9:00 to come so we can see the Season Premier of Revenge!! We love that show! Hope it is a good one!
As usual the weekend went by way to quickly with tons of things to do, but it was a great one!! Hope everyone had a great weekend too!

Season Change Cold
I woke up on Sunday morning very early with a terrible sore throat. As the day progressed I started with the rest of the season change cold. I have been going to work, but not doing much of anything when I get home. Lots of honey and tea for me! I'll be back when I feel better.

Busy but wonderful weekend!
Now that it is Sunday night and I'm relaxing on the couch, I realised what a busy, busy weekend we had!! My weekend started on Friday. I took the day off and went to the Southern Women's Show with one of my knitting friends, Julie. We had a great day and a wonderful lunch outside at a nice little restaurant in Mint Hill.
Saturday morning we had breakfast with our neighbors upstairs. They are also building a new house. We had breakfast at Skillets in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte. It was a really nice time. Then John and I left them and went over to the new house. John hadn't been there all week. They have gotten alot done this week: windows, doors, roof is complete and plumbing is done. Here is a photo from Saturday:
After we left the new house we headed up to Jenny and Kevin's house to pick up Owen for the afternoon. Jenny and Kevin had some things they needed to get done and we kept Owen until Jenny came to pick him up around 5:30. Owen kept Papa really busy while Nana was sewing Auntie Meg's Halloween costume. I of course, took breaks to play with Owen (and to give Papa breaks). That little boy really ran Papa ragged but he loved every minute of it!!
Owen was teasing us by acting like he was going to put the checker in his mouth. As soon as he got it close to his mouth he would take it away! He loves playing games!
Owen loves to stack the checkers up and then knock them down.
Owen was getting tired (as you can see he needed his Nuk) and some cuddling with Nana while she was sewing. He just sat on my lap like a good little boy and watching the sewing machine. He was a good little boy! Jenny and Owen had dinner with John and I. Jenny and I also went to Michael's and Target before dinner.
Today I woke up with a cold! I had been feeling really good until today! I slept late and then got up to take my shower and go knit with 2 other knitting friends at a coffee house called Madison's. We thought we would try some where different. It was really nice and relaxing! Then I came home and sewed both of the sleeves on Megan's outer coat of her costume. John and I had dinner and now I'm just chilling out and resting.
As you can see it was a really busy weekend, but a good one!
