I have been waiting for a 3-day weekend to come along and here it is!!! I am so glad it is Friday and the start of a long weekend. Work has been crazy busy and my home life has been too! I plan on seeing the grandboys and my girls, knitting, reading, walking and just plain relaxing! I am looking forward to really not having much on the schedule. I need this weekend to rest up and do some "me" things!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and those of you traveling be safe!!

Change Is In the Air!
(Photo via pinterest.com)
Today while I was driving home from my acupunture appointment I could see true signs that Autumn isn't too far away. I actually really love the Autumn. I love the crisp air, the smell of wood smoke in the air, apple crisp, pumpkins, knitting, etc. I love to bake during the time of year. Hopefully the leaves will be beautiful this year. We have had so much rain, so the leaves should be more colors than yellow. This time of year I love to drink hot tea after dinner. That reminds me, this weekend I will have to have John bring out the firepit so we can have some nice toasty fires in the backyard.

Saturday Roamings
John and I are doggy sitting Jenny and Kevin's dog, Cash. Kevin dropped him off this morning. Jenny, Kevin and the boys are heading up to Asheville for the weekend. They will pick Cash up sometime tomorrow.
After getting Cash and Teddy settled John and I headed out for breakfast and then on to the Farmer's Market. We had a lovely breakfast and I kept mine within my WW points :)!! We got to the Farmer's Market and was it in full swing!! I got my Meyer Lemon Tree!!!!!! I had one that was about 5.5 feet high and produced wonderful lemons. When we were in the apartment waiting for our house to be built it died. I have felt awful about that and wanting to get one so bad. I bought the one pictured below today and it has 4 lemons on it!!! Can't wait to have them. It takes 7-9 months for a lemon to turn yellow and ripe enough to harvest, but they are the vest!! This lemon tree was $15 and I think that is such a huge bargain!!
John also bought me these flowers:
Then I bought 2 soy candles. One is Spiced Orange and the other is Sage & Citrus.
Then I had to bring these lovely peaches home with me. Maybe I will make a peach crisp!!
When Kevin brought Cash down to our house, he also brought my Origami Owl Necklace I bought at Jenny's party. Here it is:

These are the little charms inside the necklace. An initial "C", flipflops, a cross, a heart that says Nana, a little owl, a horse and a disc that says Mom.
I forgot to post this the other night. Here is the wonderful Caprese Salad I made for dinner with tomatoes out of our garden and fresh homemade mozarella cheese with the basil I grew!!
We are back home and John is taking a nap. When I am done posting this post I am going to work on the mystery knit along lace project. I need alot of light, so the floor lamp will be right by my side for sure!
Hope everyone's weekend is going along well!

Rainy Weekend Ahead
The weather here in Charlotte/Mint Hill, NC has been really lovely the last few days! Almost no humidity, Fall like weather just perfect. Well the lovely weather has no disappeared and we have rain again. I really need a weekend of rainy weather though. I have alot of things that need to be done and when the sun is shining and the weather is wonderful I want to be outside. I have some Cinderella chores to do this weekend, reading and knitting. We will be watching Jenny's dog, Cash overnight (Sat. to Sun.). Teddy will have fun playing with him. They getting along really great!
My parents will be visiting next weekend, so I need to get their room ready and bathroom also. I really would like to find some things for the "boys" room. We have to put the crib back up, or I should say John has to do that. I want to decorate the boys room in a vintage cowboy and indian theme. Owen has a cowboy hat and loves to play cowboy! At their house they have a pirate theme for Owen's room and the Wizard of Oz theme in Jack's. I'm thinking some kid's cowboy boots on the dresser, fix up the lamp in there, some vintage cowboy posters on the wall, vintage cowboy print curtains..... It will be fun doing this for them. I can't wait to get it done and then see Owen's face when he sees it. Jack is a little too young to notice these things yet.
I will also be working on the Mystery Knit-Along that I am doing with my knitting group. I had made a mistake and couldn't figure out what I had done incorrect. Last night I had knitting group and I had dropped a stitch and didn't even see that I had done so. The shawl is a lace shawl and for anyone who has knitted lace before they know the yarn is about thread thick, so hence the issue! I am not the only one in the group that hasn't had issues. I will move forward though and finish the shawl and it will be beautiful!! Can't wait to knit the beads on. I have never done beading in my knitting before and I am anxious to learn. I also need to complete the Breast Cancer scarf I'm making for Vicki (another blogger) who is collecting pink scarfs for breast cancer. I think this is a wonderful thing she is doing! Vicki's blog is called 2 Bags Full...
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend whether it is raining or shining!!

Happy 34th Anniversary!
Today John and I have been married for 34 years! I remember the day like it was yesterday. We got married on a very hot, humid morning, 11:00 a.m. to be exact. The night before my Mom, sisters and my other bridesmaids stayed at a local hotel. We got ready the next morning for the wedding. Then my sister, Sue and I went over to my future in-laws house where the horse and carriage was waiting for us. We rode right through River Edge, NJ to St. Joseph's Church. While we were riding the carriage we had to go down a slight hill when the horse slipped. Luckily the driver was really experienced and was able to keep the horse going. We rode past the place where I had gotten my hair done and they all were standing outside the shop cheering for me as I rode by! That was really cool! We arrived at the church and a breeze started up. I went inside the Church and my grandfather (who was giving me away) was waiting for me. We started to walk down the aisle when it was time and I couldn't help but looking for John's eye. He was smiling and he winked at me! We said our vows and just as we started to walk down the aisle as man and wife the wind came through the church doors and slammed them! The ushers opened them and we went out to the horse and carriage. The wind came up because rain was on its way. We got in the horse and carriage with my sister, Sue who was my maid of honor and John's friend, Stan who was his best man. We rode to the Oradell, NJ train station for pictures. Just as we finished the picture taking, it started to sprinkle. We rode the carriage to the reception hall, which was only across the street from the train station. As soon a we got inside the skies opened up and it rained and rained!! My mother-in-law told me it was good luck when it rains on a wedding-some Irish saying she said. Well I guess John and I have been blessed with good luck-here we are 34 yrs. later and still in love!!!
Love you sweetie!!!

New Mandevilla Vine, Lavendar and Rosemary
This morning John and I drove over to the greenhouses not too far from our house. Its called Garden Gate. My rosemary plant basically drowned and then died with all the rain we have had the Summer. I bought a pretty good size Rosemary plant for $5. Then I saw the lavendar and I bought one of those too. Then I turned around and hanging from a post was a beautiful white mandevilla vine. Well tomorrow is our 34th anniversary and I looked at John and he said, "Happy Anniversary"! He knew I would want it and he bought it for me. What a great guy!! Here are some photos of this gorgeous plant:
I forgot to post the wind chimes I bought last weekend with the birthday money my parents gave me. Here is a photo:
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Accupuncture is wonderful!!
Yesterday I had my first accupuncture session and I have to say I feel wonderful! I have been having some edema in my left foot and thought maybe accupuncture might help. I am going to an accupuncturist that was recommended to me by a knitting friend. I was not prepared to feel so good over my whole body! I have an appt. to go back next Friday after work and I can't wait! So glad I tried it.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
