The Wedding was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

The wedding was beautiful!! Nothing could have gone more smoothly. I only have pictures of Jenny right now. She was a beautiful bride!! Jenny wore my wedding dress for most of the evening and then when it came to the dancing she wore the dress she was married in while in Jamaica. She and Kevin were so happy! The rehearsal dinner was another story-not so good :(!! I am not going to be negative about Jenny and Kevin's "home" wedding though-atleast everything went wonderful there!! Enjoy the pics!!

The Sunday Stroll around the gardens

My banana tree is getting huge!

My backyard garden is doing so much better since John mulched it. It holds the moisture in much longer than no mulch at all. John will be walking Jenny around this garden to get to the patio next Saturday for her "home" wedding. The top picture is my coleus. I have about 4 different colors and textures, but I thought these looked beautiful! The Japanese Painted Ferns are doing just great this year, even with the drought conditions. The banana tree is up to the second floor-it just keeps growing and growing! Kind of the Jack and the Beanstalk route!! Just thought I'd share my yard with y'all!

Sherri has a new ride!

Yesterday John and I just went car shopping to see if we could lower our high car payments and we did!! I got a 2009 Toyota Camry. I love it! I will love it when I got to the gas pumps too!

THE HONEYMOONERS ARE HOME!!!!

The Honeymooners came home yesterday afternoon from Jamaica! We picked them up at the airport at 5:00 brought them to our house for dinner with Megan and Ken and then we took them and Cash, their dog back to their apartment. It was really good to see them!! Hope you enjoy some pics!

The Kids are Married Now!!!

Hi Everyone! Jenny and Kevin called the house this afternoon and talked to John-they are married!! They tried to call me on my cell but for some reason they couldn't get any Verizon cell phones to ring. Jenny sounded very happy John said. She told him the ceremony was beautiful but she did feel sad that we weren't all together. He said she and Kevin got sunburned too, which isn't surprising with their really fair skin. We are very happy for them and can't wait for the US wedding on the 30th here at our home!! The picture above is the resort where they are staying and got married. It's called Swept Away Couples Resort in Jamaica.

My Uncle John passed away last night

I had posted this picture of my Uncle John (on the left) and my Dad a little while ago. This picture was probably taken in the 1970's. My Uncle John lost his battle with 3 different kinds of cancer last night around 10:00 p.m. He was living in Montrose, Colorado and is survived by my Aunt May, their son, Michael, my cousins, John, Karen and Mary from his first marriage and numerous grandchildren. My uncle was a POW in the Korean War. He was my father's second eldest brother. He was a residential builder, just like all 3 of his brothers. He lived a hard life and he will be missed. Fly away to a better place Uncle John-may you rest in peace!

Jenny and Kevin are off to their Jamaican Wedding and Honeymoon!

John and I took Jenny and Kevin to the airport at 6:00 this am. We had to get up at 5 to pick them up on time and get them to the airport by 6. Their flight was delayed to Jamaica until 9:30 due to the thunder, lightning and rain storm we had this a.m. We have Cash, their dog for the week. Teddy is happy about that-someone for him to play with!

I am feeling a little sad that we won't be there for their wedding but with the situation with his parents I can understand the reason they want to be married before they have their "vow renewal" wedding here on the 30th of this month. She looked so happy as she was going to the gate at the airport. We wish them the very best!! They will be back next Saturday.

Created another purse fob just for the Olympics!

Well the Olympics has inspired me to make a different kind of purse jewelry. I made a purse fob instead of a purse chain this time. I posted this on etsy.com too (cherylmcdermitt1 is my user name). I figured with all the gold the our Olympic participants are getting I would create one in their honor!!

I put this chain on esty under accessories. I would love your comments and thoughts about this idea. Thanks!

Office Function @ U.S. National Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC

Today my office went to the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. I wasn't able to raft so I took pictures of the event. Everyone had a wonderful time and no one got hurt!! This center is where the US Olympic Team practiced for the Olympics which is now in progress. This is a great place to go because there is so much to do, such as wall climbing, trail hiking, rafting, kayaking, picnicing and just plain enjoying yourself!! It was a great time had by all!

I had to share my little friend with you!

Just thought I would share my little friend with you! I was sitting on my patio today and guess who jumped on my chest-yes it was Fernando, the little tree frog!! He has been a resident here since we moved here. He is a special tree frog though and on the protected list. I don't know if you can tell by this picture, but he has gold outlining his eyes, hips, mouth and toes! Megan worked with someone that said the Fish, Game and Wildlife Commission in Charlotte will actually pay you to keep these little critters alive! I'm not going to do that, but he is darn cute! We find him suction cupped to our bedroom window, great room window and side lights on the front porch. He also loves my banana tree and hostas. Mr. Black Snake better leave little Fernando alone!

I have been a bad blogger!

Sorry I haven't blogged since Tuesday, but I was under the weather again! I can't seem to shake the sore throat, fever and just plain feeling miserable! Today however, I did lay in the hot sun and hopefully baked it out! I also read the entire book Sail by James Patterson and Howard Roughman I was reading. I just couldn't put it down! I will be better about blogging. Hope everyone is doing well!

I've been under the weather the last few days

I haven't been feel to great the last few days. Actually it started on Saturday night late coming back from Megan and Ken's house. I've had a fever, sore throat, sleepy and achy. Today I feel a little better, but not 100%. I hope this passes soon!

Bought a Meyer Lemon Tree today!

John and I went to Lowe's this morning to buy our son-in-law, Ken a grill light for his birthday party today and we came home with that and a Meyer Lemon Tree for ourselves! I have always wanted one. I bought one many years ago but it didn't make it. We lived in NJ then and even though I brought it in in the Fall it didn't make it. I am really excited about having one and can't wait until it bears fruit and we can use our own lemons! I am going to put it in a container tomorrow and set it on the patio.
