Spring Things!!

It has been really warm here in Charlotte-67-70's the last few days! The cherry trees are blooming, daffodils are almost done in some spots and the lawns and leaves are turning green again! I love this time of year!! Renew and all. I was looking on pinterest.com and I found some really beautiful Spring things I thought I would share with you!

(Photos via pinterest.com)

When the lavendar starts to bloom (atleast it does here in NC) in late spring this would be a wonderful thing to do! Can't you just imagine the smell of the candle heating up the lavendar!

Hanging clothes on the clothesline. I love my sheets hung out to dry and then getting inside my bed at night and taking in the scent of the day!

Don't you just love this old pail filled with tulips!

I love these Spring T-shirts. I'm going to have to try and make a few of these.

I thought this would be a great Easter time thing to do. Pick your favorite Jelly Bean Spring Color and make your monogram and hang with a matching ribbon on your front or back door. I guess you would have to make sure there are no bears in your area. I think they would love the sweet jelly beans!

I thought this was ingenious!! To make a handbag from a leg on an old capri pants! Fabulous!

This lavendar wreath would look pretty in the house or on your front or back door.

I love bird nests and this wreath is just gorgeous!

What a lovely Spring picnic! Can't you just picture yourself there! I would be eating some lovely snacks and reading with my hubby!

Don't forget to put your birdhouses out for your little Spring friends. Isn't that clematis gorgeous!

I hope my ideas have put you in a Spring mood! ENJOY!!

On the Road to Recovery.

Yesterday I moved my Dr. appt. up to 1:45. The Dr. said it was a good thing I got in to see him yesterday because I had a weezing noise in my lungs. He gave me some good meds, one of them being prednisone for the weezing. I am feeling much, much better today. I took the day off and I'm just chilling out, resting and catching up on Downton Abbey and knitting. Plenty of soup also and fluids!

Thanks everyone for your get well wishes!

Unfortunately I am sick!

I have been going, going, going and I knew one of these days it would catch up with me! Well today was the day. I went to work and by 11:00 I was coughing, not breathing very well and just plain sick and tired. I called the Dr. got an appt. for 1:45 and left the office. I have an upper respiratory infection and I will be home tomorrow also. I am going to drink plenty of fluids, get rest and just regenerate myself.

Sometimes you body just tells you it is time to take it easy! The Dr. asked me if there was anything stressing me out, was I not sleeping well and just go, go,going? I told him all of the above! Between work, all the new house decisions and just life I have been in overdrive for quite a few weeks.

I need to slow down and rest more for sure. Hope everyone is having a great day!

A Wonderful Weekend with Owen

Owen came home with me on Friday. Jenny brought Owen to my work, I showed him around to everyone that was in the office. They told us he should be the Gerber Baby! Owen and I hung out until Papa came home. Here are some pictures I took of Owen while we waited for Papa to come home.

While I fixed dinner Papa played with Owen. Owen decided he wanted to try the grilled ham steak. I only let him have a few really soft pieces. He also decided he need to try our bread. He loved both!

Here is Owen in his exersaucer waiting for more food! He really loves his food.

Owen, Papa and Nana had a wonderful time but all good things must come to an end. Owen's Mama and Daddy came this afternoon and took him home. The house still rings with Owen's laughter and jibber jabber. We had fun with you little man!!

The Weekend will be a busy one!!

Today I am working until 3:30. Jenny is dropping Owen off and after visiting with some people in the office we will head on home. John and I will have our Owen time and watch a little TV after he goes to bed. Tomorrow we have to be at the builders office at 9:00 a.m. to sign the contract. Then we'll go back home give Owen a bath and play with him after a little lunch until his parents come to pick him up. Maybe they will stay for pizza too! Sunday we have Church and then I'll be heading to Dillworth Coffee to hang out with my knitting friends-YAY!! I will also at some time during Saturday and Sunday be making some jewelry for my etsy site. I will be making some beach glass necklaces. I also want to make some new and different things from what I've been putting on the site. Some Spring sparklies would be nice too!! A loaded up weekend but a good one! Can't wait to spend some time with Owen!!

Everyone have a good one!!

New House is a Go!!

John and I just found out yesterday afternoon that the builder accepted our offer and we will be in our new house October 1st!! Of course, we have to get our mortgage commitment (we have our Pre-Qualification now). We are so excited and I can't wait to start planning my decorating of this home!! I'm going to have our oldest daughter, Megan help with picking out everything at the Design Center. She has her degree in Interior Design and will be really helpful with the choices. The House we chose is the St. James Plan, which is a 2 story Craftsman style home. It has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, bonus room, dining room, great room, office, kitchen and a laundry room with a folding table! The lot is 1 acre and is wooded. I cannot wait to have my own gardens (flower and vegetable) again! We will be living in Mint Hill not Charlotte, which is in the same county as we are now. I love the name Mint Hill. There is a cute town center there.

The people we are renting from are not sticking to what they told us and shame on us for not getting this in writing. They had told us that when we decided to buy a house, they wouldn't hold us to the lease and they would find a new renter. Well things have changed. At first they said we had to stay another year and that would satisfy the lease. They have now softened up a little and said if the Management Company finds another renter, they will let us out and give us our deposit back or let us use it for the last months rent. John and I aren't taking any chances. We are having them list the house for rent as of 5/1. John and I can move to a small apt. in the area until our house is ready. We would put almost everything in storage and only take absolutely necessities with us. I don't care how many times we have to move just as long as we get the house we want. It has been a really long 4 years for us, but I finally feel we are seeing the light and becoming home owners again!! YAY for us!!

You can tell I'm a builder's daughter, I just love the thought of building a house. I know there are alot of things that go on during this time period but I love it!!

What a great weekend!!

I had a great weekend! Friday work was over 1/2 hr. early! Then I had a nice night with John.

Saturday I had lunch at Cabo Fish Taco with my friend, Julie and we took a wool spinning class. At Cabo we both had Lemon Grilled Shrimp Tacos-as usual they were awesome!! We then headed over to Yarnhouse in NoDa (a section of Charlotte that is artsy). We met Brooke our instructor and Chris the Owner of the Shop. We were the only ones taking the class and what fun we had!! We were in the class for a little over 2 hrs. and learned alot. I will post a picture of the drop spindle and yarn I spun during the week. When I got home John and I discussed the new house we were going to talk about with the Builders Rep today. We went over budget, extras, elevations, etc., etc. Jenny,Kevin and Owen came over for dinner. We had steaks on the grill, homemade French fries, green beans, artisan bread and chocolate cake. What a great time we had with all of them but especially Owen!! He has 2 teeth, with another one coming in now. He really loved Teddy. He would touch Teddy's (our dog) nose and start giggling. I think it was the cold and wetness of the nose!! We love that little boy!! We started up the fire pit and chilled out for a little while on the patio.

Today we met with the Builders Rep and we are waiting for an answer from the Builder whether or not he will accept our offer. The Rep is pretty sure he will!!! We are so excited! If the offer is accepted we will be moving into our new house on October 1st or there about. It is so exciting and wonderful! After meeting with the builder's rep, I went on to knitting with my knitting girls. What a nice time!! Came home and chatted with John for a bit before he went to Stephen's Ministry at Church.

I just heard some parts of Charlotte is having sleet and/or snow!! Winter is back!

A Few Miscellaneous Things:

John ordered a lovely beach glass necklace for me and it arrived Thursday! It is gorgeous. Here it is:

When my knitting friends came over last weekend, my friend Ginny brought me a Jasmine plant. It is loaded with buds right now. I cannot wait until it blooms!

Sorry this is a little blurry.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Enjoy your week!

Thank Goodness for Weekends!!

I am so glad it is Friday and I only have a few hours at work left. This week has been really busy and I'm tired! I was up so late last night worrying about some things with regard to the new house and I got up extra early this a.m. worrying about the same things! I am worry for nothing I'm sure, just it is a big step (one that we want) in building a house. We are both really excited and I'm sure everything will just work out. Keep me in your prayers on this big, big decision!!

ETSY SHOP CHANGE!!

(Blushing Bride Pearl Earrings on my etsy site)

I received so many lovely e-mails from people asking me not to close my Etsy shop that I have decided to keep it open after all! I really thank all those people who reached out and asked me to reconsider. I have decided to keep it a little more simpler and not take on any custom orders. I love to create jewelry and other items and the custom orders really take alot of time and have time constraints. In the next few days and weeks I will be making some more sparklies for my shop! I might also be adding some more knitted items, such as dishcloths made from cotton and some scarves, handbags and other small knitted items.

Again I want to thank all my past customers for all their support and future customers! Without all of you I wouldn't have a shop on etsy.

**I will still ship shop items to people in other countries, they just need to e-mail me asking me to do so. I just don't want to leave that open all the time. There would be a small shipping adjustment too, but it can be done. Thanks!

Then we moved on to Fettucini Alfredo with Shrimp, fresh bread and iced tea.

The Valentine Flowers were so pretty. I put white daisies together with bright red tulips. Here are some photos I took of them:

Beautiful Red and White!

(Photo via etsy.com)

I have always loved red and white! I don't know why but February always makes me think red and white. Not just because it is Valentine's Day in the month of January, I think it is because when i lived in the North everything was so white (from snow) and gray this time of year and I would put some things out that were red to brighten things up. I went on pinterest.com and found some beautiful photos of red and white that I thought I would share with you!

I love all of these bed linens. Just gorgeous!!

There is a very Vintage look about this red and white bathroom.

Red and White dishes are just beautiful for this time of year. I love this vignette!

Red and Checked Chair-just beautiful!

This photo is one of my favorites! The white swan is so stark white against the lush red boat.

Who doesn't love red and white polka dots! This pitcher makes a wonderful vase for the luscious red tulips!

Anyone would be gorgeous in this red and white gown.

This time of year red cardinals really stand out against the white snow.

Vintage dresses are always gorgeous and this red one is a beauty!

I love white cupboard and the red and white dishes in this one is fabulous!!

Hope these photos from pinterst.com got you in the Valentine's Day mood!! Have a great weekend!
