I got back to NC from NJ at about 6:45 p.m. last night. We had left at 7:30 a.m.! Long trip! The girls slept almost all the way home so I did almost all the driving. I didn't mind though they needed the sleep. They had been at the wedding until really late the night before, so me driving was the better option-LOL! I had a really nice visit with my parents, my sisters and their families and 3 of my friends. I went to lunch at The Tea Hive with my Mom and one of my sisters! I love that place! They have a tea there called Vanilla Cream Spice and it is to die for! I had 2 pots of it. I didn't get much reading time in and not many pictures either, which was too bad. They had so much rain this year that the leaves didn't seem to be changing very much but they were just dropping. I thought I could get some really beautiful pictures. I will post what pictures I did take tonight. I was able to help my Dad with some things in his shop while I was there and he cut out the circles in copper that I needed to make some more earrings. He kind of made it his mission to figure out how to cut through the heavier copper and he did it! So now I've got 37 disk of copper to make earrings, necklaces or bracelets. I was a little worried about my Mom, she is having blood pressure problems. The Drs. put her on 2 patches of high blood pressure meds and I think it is too much for her. She keeps falling asleep during the day and then can't sleep at night. She is calling the Dr. today. Hopefully they will get it adjusted correctly for her.
I was so glad to see John, I had really missed him while I was gone. Hopefully the next time he can come with us. Teddy also missed me, he went bananas when I walked through the door! It is so nice to be loved by my men-LOL!!
I missed keeping in touch with all of you too! I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day!
It sounds like you had a great and exhausting time! Gotta love it, though! Your dad sounds like a sweetheart. I can just picture him wanting to get it just right for you. Dads are wonderful!! It is horrible trying to get blood pressure meds just right. Your poor mother! Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon so she can feel normal.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had this little getaway with your girls. That's quite the drive so you are quite the woman!!
Sounds like a wonderful time, Sherri. Hope you brought some of the tea home with you : ) I also hope your Mom can get the meds tweaked so she's more comfortable. That can be a tricky thing so I wish her the best.
ReplyDeleteI always miss my hubby when I travel without him (which isn't very often). I can just imagine the welcome you received from Teddy :D
Hi Sherri,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good time, and a busy time. It's always great to be home, isn't it. Hope your Mom will be ok.
Hugs,
Donna

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.....
Nice to see you back.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely watch out for Vanilla Cream Spice. It sounds great.

Glad to hear you had a nice time. It's always fun to see your family. I hope your mom gets her blood pressure problems fixed. As we get older it just seems like there's so much more to adjust and fix. Now, I hope you can get some time to relax.
