When John and I were Christmas shopping, what did I see but an amaryllis kit! I bought it and planted it that night. I woke up a few days ago and this is what I saw:
I just love the color and I just love amaryllis! There are 4 almost 5 blossoms out on this plant and it is just stunning!!
The other day my lemon tree started blooming! I never even noticed but then I smelled that wonderful lemon blossom smell! There is nothing like it.
Hopefully I will have lots and lots of fresh Meyer lemons in 7-8 months!!
I then took a walk outside. Love the sunshine finally after so much gray and rainy weather. I planted 8 cabbage plants in my raised bed garden in September. Look what I have in my garden!!
I will hopefully be harvesting this baby not too long from now! Alot of wonderful gardening things for being in the middle of winter!
Hope all of you are enjoying your weekend!
Hugs xxoo
Wow! I didn't think a lemon tree grown in the house would flower. I don't think I've ever smelled our Meyer lemon blossoms. I wish I still had a better sense of smell.
ReplyDeleteYou must have a green thumb dear Sherri! I didn't know one could grow those lemons indoors - the fragrance alone would make it worthwhile, but if/when the lemons appear how fabulous that will be.
ReplyDeletePretty amaryllis - they are spectacular flowers.
Cabbages, wow - how great to will be to be cooking those soon - much better flavor than store bought I'm sure!
Happy Sunday - raining again here but the coming week sounds beautiful at last and I plan to get out and about!
Hugs - Mary
I went out today and smelled the lemon blossoms. I had to put my nose right up to it, and it did have a delicate beautiful smell.
ReplyDeleteHi! I am new to your blog but had to write when I saw your amaryllis photo. I bought one just a day or so before Christmas and it just bloomed this week and is gorgeous. I had two stalks and they each had four big blooms. It's amazing to watch them grow overnight once they start. I had to stake mine because they were so heavy, did you?
ReplyDeleteI posted about mine on Friday.
Thanks for sharing.
Judy
Love your amaryllis. We have had several amaryllis bulbs for many years, and my husband overwinters them in the garage. THIS YEAR, the cold must have gotten to them because he thinks they have died. I think we are both in mourning for them! They are really gorgeous.
