Spring Has Sprung Around Here!

Hi Everyone and I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday!  It is overcast here and we've had a little rain.  I am not complaining at all because it has been so dry here for so long.  My plants need the rain so bad.  I was watering every night, but I much prefer Mother Nature provide water to everything.  Our lawn looks so much better.  It still needs some work but we will be fertilizing, over seeding and aerating in the Fall and Spring.  It has been so fun putting in new gardens and there are some more things to come.  So far I have planted 4 azaleas, 1 Japanese Red Maple and a lilac.  I've also planted a clematis, roses, pink yarrow, coral bells, lavender, cone flower, petunias and daylilies.

Here are some photos of our plants:

This weekend we have decided to plant a hosta garden under the hickory tree in our backyard.  The grass doesn't grow well under there because of the shade.  We both love hostas but that really is the only shade area we have.

I had to take Steve to the walk in clinic at the hospital yesterday because the day before the Dr. told him he had gout.  The redness started going up his leg and then a red line started going up his leg.  Not good, he ended up having cellulitis which is not good.  The Dr. gave him 2 antibiotics and he seems to be getting well already!

Here are some more photos of our house, etc.:

I took some cuttings from the roses at my last house to try and propagate here.  I love all of these roses and hope they make it:

Well I better get a shower and get moving on with my day!  Just thought I would stop in and share some things that I have been working on.

Everyone have a wonderful day and weekend!

  1. You've been busy! Glad you got the man to the doc. Lines up your leg can turn into all kinds of horrible things. Be sure and have hubby take a PRObiotic pill opposite the time he takes an antibiotic. Antibiotics can rip out the natural flora in your gut. Your gut has c-diff in it anyway, but when antibiotics are given it removes the good bacteria and lets the cdiff grow. This causes gas and diarrhea, and if not stoppable, eventual diagnosis of cdiff and only a couple of special meds can stop that. Sam's Club capsules are good, or tons of Greek yogurt. (My daughter-in-law didn't follow my suggestion, and the above happened.) Retired RN Linda in Kansas

  2. I had no real understanding of gout. It sounds so painful. Your flowers are all so very gorgeous!
