My bookclub celebrates it's 6th anniversary last night
I belong to The Charlotte Weekly Bookclub. Last night we celebrated our 6th anniversary! Where did the time go! Those of us that could make it met at McCormick and Schmidt's for Happy Hour. It was wonderful! Some of us had pineapple-tinis, I had a glass of Reisling wine and a few of the girls had beer. They have a wonderful happy hour menu too and really inexpensive. I had a 1/2 lbs. cheeseburger with tons of fries for $2.95! It was absolutely wonderful. We chatted about the book we all read, Return to Sullivan's Island by Dorothea Benton Frank, we chatted about the July choice, So Happy Together by Maryann McFadden, we discussed the impending March visit to NYC as a group and our tour while we're there with Adriana Trigiani (which is so exciting!!!)and we also chatted about other books everyone is reading or have read since our June bookclub meeting. What a great way to spend an evening!!

Once again- Wish I lived closer!:) Lori
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, are you going to NYC with the group?! What a great opportunity. I love Trigiani's books. I also have So Happy Together on my wish list. You belong to a great club, Sherri!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherri! I love the new look of your blog! Your courtyard is so inviting. I've been so bad about visiting blogs this past month, so perhaps this isn't a "new" look at all, but it just took me by surprise when I popped over here. I'm getting back on track, on keeping up with my own blog and visiting all my friends, so thanks for not giving up on me.
ReplyDeleteI love that your book club has been meeting for so long. How exciting that you're all planning a trip together. I'm in a book club too, but we meet just monthly and we are lucky to have dinner together once a year!
Hope you're having a great summer. The only time I've been in Charlotte was years ago and it was July. I do remember the heat and humidity, but also how beautiful it is there.
Hi Sherri, it must be a pretty good club to last that long. I belonged to a book club here but the books they chose were not to my liking so I finally left.

I've read all of Adriana Trigiani's books and visited where she grew up. How exciting to be going to New York!! Lucky you.

Sherri- You've done 15 things on BINGO?! Fabulous! I have only done 11 but there is one day left!:) Don't forget to e-mail me your final total by midnight tomorrow night.:) Lori toosillysisters@cox.net
ReplyDeleteMary-I am saving $$ as we speak so I can go with the group. I have a feeling it will be a really small group, which will be really nice. Not that I don't want everyone to go but it will be easier to manage.
ReplyDeleteKaren-yes I made the changes to my blog a few weeks ago. I'm glad you like it! Good to see you blogging again!
Lori-I was surprised when I checked off 15 things on my BINGO board! I'll e-mail you tomorrow night!
Your book club sound like so much fun!! I jotted down the names of those books to check out. Hope you will be able to go to New York for the March trip. That would be such a great trip. Love the look of your new header. Love & blessings from NC!
