What I'm working on.

I have been knitting a Silk Moon Crescent Shawl for a little while now.

I'm making mine in a cotton/silk blend.  The colors are all pastel (pink, blues, greens, white).  I really love knitting it-the yarn is so soft.  I was however, getting a little bored with this shawl.  I decided to knit 2 project at one time.  So I started knitting the Angel Wingspan Shawl.  This really is more like a scarf but I love it!!  Here is a picture of the Wingspan Shawl, but I'm doing the Angel Wingspan Shawl that has larger holes between each triangular section.  When I get a day that is good for photographs, I will take some pictures of what I'm working on.

My Angel Wingspan Shawl is in royal blue, turquoise, lime green.  It is really pretty!  I love learning new things.

Tonight my knitting group meets and I wonder what new patterns are out there and what wonderful new yarns Sara has at her shop!  It is all so very tempting!!

Saturday Farmer's Market, Matthews, NC

This morning John and I woke up at our regular during the week time 5:45!!!  We were at the Farmer's Market in Matthews, NC by 7:05 a.m.  They ring a bell at 7:15 and then all the people are off to purchase all there wonderful home grown, homemade items.  There are veggies, flowers, herbs, eggs, meat, cheeses, honey, pottery, soap and breads to buy.

John and I purchased honey, brown eggs, yellow squash, cukes, potatoes, cinnamon rolls and flowers.  John has already eaten his organic cinnamon roll and he said he was soooooo good!  I put the flowers I bought in my crystal vase and that makes me smile!  We will have the brown eggs for breakfast tomorrow and put some of the local honey in our tea in the morning.

I forgot to show everyone the beautiful yellow begonia John bought me for my birthday.  I've put it on our kitchen table.  Every morning I look at them and they just make me smile-such a lovely yellow!

Fabulous Friday!!!!

It's Friday again and am I ready for the weekend to begin!!  Tomorrow a.m. early around 7:15 I will be at the Matthews Farmer's Market getting my veggies, bread and eggs!!  I have a Farmer's Market really close where I work but the Matthews Farmer's Market is so much fun!  We see some people we know, chat, buy our produce and then we go for breakfast at a little restaurant close by.  It is just a lovely way to start the day.  Not many other plans for the rest of the weekend, especially due to the extreme heatwave we have been having.  Sunday I will be knitting with my friends for a little bit at Dilworth Coffee but not much else planned.  If it ever cools down, John and I will probably try and take a walk on the greenway.

Wonderful, Wonderful News!!!

We finally heard the second mortgage company has their act together and we have a mortgage.  This has taken so long with all the paperwork mishaps, etc., etc.  They will be able to start clearing our lot and building our house.  We probably won't be in until the end of October beginning of November, but that is all right with us just as long as it is full steam ahead!!

Birthday Dinner at Bonterra

Last night I went out with John, Jenny, Megan and Ken to Bonterra Restaurant.  Bonterra was an old church which they have now converted into a restaurant.  While we didn't take any pictures while we were there, I found some photos online.  The food, company and night was just fabulous!!

It is Charlotte Restaurant Week here now.  Which means you can enjoy a 3 course meal at quite a few select restaurants in Charlotte for $30.00 pp.  I had a Jumbo Lump Crab Cake for my appetizer, Seared Large Scallops for my main entree and Key Lime Mousse Cake for my dessert.  We all ordered different things.  Megan had duck, Jenny had Filet Mignon, John had the scallops also and Ken ordered the fish, which for the life of me I cannot remember.  Everyone said all that they ordered was so good.  I would definitely like to go back here again. I would try the restaurant again when it wasn't Restaurant week just because it was so busy.

I just love spending time with my family and they were very good to me-celebrating my birthday in style!!

Today is my 53rd birthday!  I would like to say that I will be....

Well I am at work today but then tonight I will be having a beautiful dinner at a restaurant called Bonterra, which my daughter, Megan said is absolutely fabulous!  John, Megan, Ken, Jenny and I are going and that is a wonderful birthday for me!!  Oh and we will be having...

Wonderful Decorating and Garden Ideas for a Friday!

It's Friday (finally!!)!  I was looking at some decorating and garden ideas and I decided to share them with all of you.  I thought it would be a nice way to wind down this rather hectic week.

I love everything about this porch!!  The wicker, red, white, different green color paint, everything!!

 The shelves in this kitchen are loaded with such cute bowls and cups.  I love the soft colors!  The polka dots are so cute!!

 Now this is one dreamy bedroom!  Look at that chandelier!  Very restful looking.

 I have always loved arbors and this one didn't disappoint me! The field stone pathway is something I would love to do at the new house.  I think the new house is going to have an arbor in its future!!

 I have always loved craftsman style homes.  The one we hope to be building would look wonderful with a front door just like this one.  Love the color too!

 As most of you know I am an avid reader.  This is my idea of a wonderful reading area!!  I love that chair!
