Dove Grey wins out over Oatmeal

I posted a few posts ago that I had started knitting a cowl and didn't like the way it was turning out. The yarn was not chunky enough and the needles weren't the right size. I went to knitting group last night and found the perfect yarn!! It is a lovely light grey and made by Silenzio. I bought the size 13 needles the pattern recommended too but dropped it down to a size 10.5 US. Here are so pictures I took of it:

This is what the Cowl is going to look like when I get it done. It is called the Gap-Tastic Cowl from Ravelry.com.

Here is the yarn I'm using. Silenzio 90 Lt. Grey. You can see I just started the project.

Here is a closeup of the yarn.

Closeup of the start of my project.

I will show all of you the Cowl when it is done. I hopefully will get it done pretty quickly because the weather is changing back to cold here in Charlotte over the weekend.

If you are working on any project (knitting or not), let me know what you are working on!

  1. Sherri, that yarn is a beautiful shade of grey! I am still working on pulling my dining room together. I hope to go buy some new chairs tomorrow, so I'm getting closer!

    Stay warm this weekend!

  2. It is going to be gorgeous in that yarn, Sherri! I am working on organizing the basement but don't think I will get much done after I pick SweetCheeks up from pre-school for the day and overnighter. That's okay- the basement can wait! We are supposed to get a snow dump here in Wisconsin tomorrow. xo Diana

  3. That is a gorgeous color Sherri! I wish it was cooler here to wear one. I have never knitted but I have crocheted years ago. I'd like to learn though!

  4. I like the yarn color, Sherri. Now I'm off to look up the pattern to see if my knitting skills are up to it! I could use a cowl :)

  5. Hey Sherri! You're right...Cindy is VERY talented and I'm SO blessed to receive a piece of her art work!
I LOVE the color of your yarn...I wish I could knit or crochet. I used to be able to, but it's been so long I don't think I remember anymore. (plus I just don't have two seconds to do stuff like that anymore...I still make cards, but that's about it!) :)
    Have a great day girlie!

  8. Sherri, I have a question about the amount of yarn you bought. The pattern calls for two skeins of approx. 153 yds each. Is that the amount you bough for the new cowl? Thx.

  9. Mary-I did but I might not use it all since I went down a needle size. Not quite sure. I rather be safe than sorry. My shop lets you bring back the unused, unopened yarn if you bought too much.
