What a great weekend!!

I had a great weekend! Friday work was over 1/2 hr. early! Then I had a nice night with John.

Saturday I had lunch at Cabo Fish Taco with my friend, Julie and we took a wool spinning class. At Cabo we both had Lemon Grilled Shrimp Tacos-as usual they were awesome!! We then headed over to Yarnhouse in NoDa (a section of Charlotte that is artsy). We met Brooke our instructor and Chris the Owner of the Shop. We were the only ones taking the class and what fun we had!! We were in the class for a little over 2 hrs. and learned alot. I will post a picture of the drop spindle and yarn I spun during the week. When I got home John and I discussed the new house we were going to talk about with the Builders Rep today. We went over budget, extras, elevations, etc., etc. Jenny,Kevin and Owen came over for dinner. We had steaks on the grill, homemade French fries, green beans, artisan bread and chocolate cake. What a great time we had with all of them but especially Owen!! He has 2 teeth, with another one coming in now. He really loved Teddy. He would touch Teddy's (our dog) nose and start giggling. I think it was the cold and wetness of the nose!! We love that little boy!! We started up the fire pit and chilled out for a little while on the patio.

Today we met with the Builders Rep and we are waiting for an answer from the Builder whether or not he will accept our offer. The Rep is pretty sure he will!!! We are so excited! If the offer is accepted we will be moving into our new house on October 1st or there about. It is so exciting and wonderful! After meeting with the builder's rep, I went on to knitting with my knitting girls. What a nice time!! Came home and chatted with John for a bit before he went to Stephen's Ministry at Church.

I just heard some parts of Charlotte is having sleet and/or snow!! Winter is back!

A Few Miscellaneous Things:

John ordered a lovely beach glass necklace for me and it arrived Thursday! It is gorgeous. Here it is:

When my knitting friends came over last weekend, my friend Ginny brought me a Jasmine plant. It is loaded with buds right now. I cannot wait until it blooms!

Sorry this is a little blurry.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Enjoy your week!

  7. Everyone, I will be making beach glass jewelry sometime this week. I have been trying to think of new things to add to my etsy site and I have come up with beach glass jewelry and maybe some more sterling silver bird nests-necklaces and maybe some tiny nests for earrings. Stay tuned!!

  8. Sherri! I thought you were closing down your Etsy shoppe! I love the beach glass. I found an artist at our recent art festival that made beauties from beach glass and bought several for Christmas gifts this past Christmas. Your weekend sounds amazing, so full of family, friends and fun. I'm so excited about your new home. You must really be a pro at packing up and moving. It is an overwhelming thought to me. Glad you had such fun and Owen, with his beautiful big eyes, is adorable. You must all be enjoying him! What a sweetie!!

  9. Joyce, I put a notice on my blog and I posted that I had changed my mind about closing the etsy shop. I am just not taking any custom orders unless I know the person. That was the problem I had and that was taking so much time was the custom orders and the people who keep changing their minds once you get the custom order done. This way I can still create, which I love to do, and still have the shop open. The etsy shop $ is going towards the new house!!
