Starting a new sweater, flowers and necklace.

I bought a beautiful skein of hand-dyed rayon yarn from my local yarn shop.  It actually is 1,200 yds of beautiful blues.  The shop owner and I laughed about it being a yarn cake because of the high yardage-LOL!!  I found a kimono-type sweater pattern and I started it last night.  This is as far as I got:

Today while John was raking up some straw from the seeding of the backyard lawn, I was in the house making a birthstone bird nest necklace for a customer.  She has 2 sons and their birthstones are blue topaz and sapphire.  I used some Swarovski crystals for the "eggs".  I think it turned out really pretty!

After making the necklace I decided to have a cup of hot tea this afternoon.  It is chilly here because of the rain.  The showers are really making our flowers pop!  Here is some coral bells in the front garden.

These coral bells were from my Nana's plant.  Nana has been gone for over 23 years, but every time I have moved I have bought a piece of this plant with me!  That is alot of moving and the plant is doing so well!
I sat out on the back porch before the rain shower came.  I love this little plant!!  What gorgeous coloring!!

This Saturday has been a really good one!  Jenny brought Owen and Jack to our house for a visit!!  What a great visit it was!!!

Hope everyone had a great Saturday too!!

  7. You are so very artistic, Sherri! A kimono style sweater sounds very interesting. I'm imagining how warm and comfy it must be.
