Jenny's Bridal Shower was a success!

We all had a wonderful time at Jenny's Bridal Shower. There were only 7 of us but we had a blast! There were only 7 of us because everyone else coming to the wedding lives so far away, so they weren't able to come. We had champagne punch, cucumber sandwiches, deviled eggs, veggie platter with herb dip, shrimp cocktail served in martini glasses and petit fours. She got so really lovely gifts and she loved the beach bag Megan and I had bought with her new monogram on it! We asked everyone to provide something for the beach bag and it was filled to the top! I had alot of fun setting the table and making the flower arrangement with the pears. Jenny and Kevin have used the pear theme for the reception ("we make a pear") so that is why I chose pears and it is also the green they are using in their wedding. Now we are all looking forward to the wedding 8/30/08!!

  1. She's lovely and what a great theme. The flowers are lovely, too. I hope she extends the theme to thank you cards. :)

  2. Boy, time is flying by! Only about 2 months to go. Are they still getting married at your house? Is Jenny having any more run-ins with the in-laws?

  3. Maggie-thanks for your compliments! Kevin, Jenny's fiance is a graphic artist and he has designed the thank you notes with a pair on them. He also designed (with Jenny's help) their invitations, save the date cards, etc.

Lynne-you are so right my friend, the time has flown by! Jenny and Kevin are still getting married at our house. Unfortunately Jenny has had a few run ins with Kevin's youngest sister (the one that lives here in Charlotte) and Jenny didn't want the future mother-in-law invited to the shower because of her actions towards Jenny. We received 2 gifts at the house from her. When we opened the packages from Target one was a coffee maker (which only Kevin drinks coffee because Jenny is allergic like me) and the other was a shop vac that Kevin told his father he wanted. The coffee maker gift tag said, Love Mom, Dad and future sister-in-laws, Kristen and Bridget. Kevin said the gifts are going back and his Mom did this just to try and ruin Jenny's day and she had to have the last word. Truthfully, I don't know why he wants the mother and father at the wedding. It is going to be a very shaky day at best. Keep all of us in your prayers!
