One of my co-workers has chickens. He brought me 2 eggs in the other
day for my Saturday a.m. breakfast. This morning I made them and they
tasted so good. The one egg was a greenish-grayish color and the other
was a beautiful brown egg. I know it sounds weird but I have always
loved photos of eggs. I don't know if it is the shape or color, but I
just love them! Here are a few photos I took of the 2 eggs I received.

Friday is Here!!!
Finally Friday is here! This week has seemed so long for me. Alot going on. I really don't have any plans other than making sure John and I fill out our taxes and get that behind us. I always like when that is done! I will probably read my book, do some knitting, do a little cleaning but other than that John and I are free to do whatever we want!
Tonight after work I have to go to our new bank and sign up for my account. Then we are going to Brixx Pizza for dinner. That will be fun!
Last night I had knitting group and I had a lovely visit with Debbie, the Shop Owner. She is so helpful and I really enjoy talking with her about a multitude of things!
Everyone have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

On the Mend
I am finally on the mend! Last Wed. afternoon I started to feel feverish and my face hurt. Thursday I woke up and felt absolutely terrible. I stayed home from work. Friday morning I couldn't stand it anymore, so I called the Dr. and went in. I had a horrendous sinus infection and my left ear was badly infected. Good thing I went in! I got some really good meds and was told to go back on my 2 allergy meds. I've had 2 sinus infection since Thanksgiving. I had given up taking my prescribed allergy meds and had tried acupuncture and some Chinese herbs the acupuncturist suggested. While they worked for a few months, for some reason they are not working now. I am back on the prescribed allergy meds and I feel so much better!
I have also decided to stop using Sweet 'n Low. I am using raw sugar now instead. I have read way too many articles about how bad those artificial sweetners are for you. I had made a promise to myself that I would try to make 2014 a healthy year and this is a start!
Hope everyone is doing well! Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids!!

Megan's Birthday 1/27/14
(Megan and Ken)
I am a bad mother! I forgot to post on my blog about Megan's birthday yesterday! I posted on FB, I sent her a text but I forgot to post on here. Megan turned 33 yesterday! I cannot believe that much time has gone by. I remember when she was little just like it was yesterday! Sunday night we had the whole family over to celebrate and celebrate we did!! I made one of Megan's favorite dinners: Chuck Roast, mashed potatoes, peas, beer bread and the dessert was cheesecake with cherry on top! She like her present from John and I: David Yurman style ring, sparklie earrings, $25 Amazon gift card, those little squares for her Scentsy warmer and a cute bag that was monogrammed for the beach or pool!
Our little girl has certainly grown up! Love you Megs!! xxoo

Master Bedroom all Painted!!
Two weekends ago John and I painted our Master Bedroom and Master Bath. I chose Valspar paints. I did the wall behind our bed in a medium gray and the other 3 walls in a lighter gray. Then the Master Bath was painted in a robin egg blue. We are so happy with the way both rooms turned out! Here are some photos:
Next we need to decide what we are going to do about our furniture in our room. The furniture we have now is very "chunky" and we would like to change that. I'm thinking of bringing my antique dresser back in our room but I would your Annie Sloan Chalk Paint on it first. I definitely want different nightstands. We are probably going to move up to a King-size bed too! I love decorating and making this house ours!!

Winter has Definitely Arrived in the South!!!
Well when I woke up today it was 10 degrees with a wind chill making it seem more like zero!! I know the more North you go the colder it gets. I have lived here for 9 years and this is definitely the coldest winter so far. When you are in the sun and the wind isn't blowing it isn't too bad, but when the wind picks up and the sun goes down it is mighty cold!
I am work now but I really wish I was in bed, all wrapped up with a cup of tea and a good book or my knitting. I guess that is what I'll be doing tonight!!
Everyone stay warm, make sure your pets don't stay outside too long (if you have pets) and just play snuggle up!!

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
I am sorry I haven't gotten on here to wish you all a Happy New Year until now! I hope everyone has an awesome 2014!!! I had my grandsons (ages 2 1/2 yrs. and 8 mos. old) New Year's Eve until around 11:00 on New Year's Day. They are both so sweet and we had a really great visit! The rest of New Year's Day I napped, knitted, read and watched movies with John.
I usually don't make resolutions, but I did promise myself to read more, keep on knitting and learning new things with knitting, lose weight, enjoy life more, go to the Beach for a week this year and try and reduce stress in my life.
I reflected on things that had happened to me in 2013 and here are a few things that I remembered as being a highlight:
1. The birth of my second grandson, Jack. A huge thing in our life. He is such a sweet baby boy!
2. The Builder of our new home finally listened to us and our structural engineer and corrected the floor joist issue in our home. It took a year but it is finally fixed and we can move on.
3. John started a new job with a title company in the Ballantyne section of Charlotte and he really likes it and they like him!
4. We had most of my family visiting this summer to meet little Jack.
There were many other things in 2013, but these were the most memorable!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas/New Year's holiday season. I also wish that everyone has a wonderful 2014!!
