Some miscellaneous pictures in our yard

John and I spent almost all day yesterday working in the gardens. I made up the 4 windowboxes, sprayed the 2 urns out front gloss black, filled the urns with dirt and plants, cut back the front climber and tied it up better, cleaned all the urns and planters on the patio, clipping the dead off the plants, etc., and then we cleaned the entire backyard garden!! It was alot of work and we were very tired. Then we remembered we invited our friends over for dinner!! We had a wonderful dinner with them, we grilled steaks, had salad, green beans and mashed potatoes. My friend made the dessert. She made strawberries, with whipped cream and pound cake all layered, it was wonderful! It started to get a little chilly so we lit the outdoor fireplace and stayed out there until 10:30. It was great!

Here are some pictures of our cherry tree blooming out front and a few other pics. Enjoy! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

This is the Cherry Tree in our front yard.

Here are so of the cherry blossoms. they look like puffy, pink clouds! I love looking at them swaying in the breeze!

Our Carolina Jasmine started blooming about 1 week ago on our brick wall by the outdoor fireplace.

I gave the two urns in the front of the house a fresh coat of paint. I used shiny black. They look so much better. I'll take a picture of the urns in the next few days. I planted Gerbera Daisies in them with creeping jenny and marigolds.

John and I cleaned up the gardens and I made up the 4 front flowerboxes. We put a geraniu, in the middle and the asparagus fern on either side. These always look so nice when they get fuller and bloom!

  2. Wow! You did a lot today. We have wind and rain mixed with snow right now. No leaves on our trees yet. At least a month away. Thanks for showing yours!

  6. Wow, you've been busy! The cherry blossoms are beautiful. I also like the black urns you painted ~ black is such a nice accent color. Sounds like you had a lovely time with your friends.
