My house is filled to the hilt with boxes!!

There are moving boxes all over the house now. The pictures have all been taken down and wrapped in bubble wrap for their journey to our new home. Everything downstairs has been packed except for what we are using daily. Upstairs our bedroom and master bathroom is now packed up. Over the weekend I have to pack up my jewelry table and the 2 guest room closets. John and I are going to attack the garage too! This will be the last weekend we have to pack before we move. The next weekend is Easter and we will be travelling North to my parents house.

Some people, well really most people don't like packing but I really don't mind it. It gets me to go through all the things and get rid of things I don't need or want anymore. I also love giving the girls things that they can have to carry on some traditions! Maybe if I had to go up in the attic and pull all the Christmas boxes down, like DH did tonight maybe then packing wouldn't be so fun to me!

Well I'm off to pack a few more boxes! Hope everyone had a great day!

  1. I know you're excited about the move. We moved every 2 years while Don was in the Coast Guard. First year we explored the new place and second year we groused about what was wrong with it so we could get excited about moving....again....This went on for 14 plus years. Have a great Easter.

  2. Happy moving! A new adventure is always so exciting! I'm not a person that likes to do the same thing forever, so I'm very happy for you!

  3. Glad you made time to go through stuff before you had to move it. It will make unpacking so much easier when you get to the new house. I'm so excited for you!! And can't wait to see pics of your new home!

  4. I feel the same about packing..., really an opportunity to re-evaluate..., and perhaps reminisce a little too!

  5. I actually love moving too! I agree with you about sorting and giveaway things.

    Have fun!

  6. Sounds like you are very organized with your packing which makes every thing run smoother at moving time. I've only moved once in 29 years of marriage and it was overwhelming. I don't look forward to doing it again.

  7. Happy Packing Sherri! Glad you don't mind it - that will make it go faster :) Bet you can't wait to "nest" in your new home - we can't wait to see what you end up doing!!

  8. I'm so excited for you to get into your new place! I never minded moving. I used to do it quite often. I didn't mind the packing but I was never really fond of the unpacking. lol.

  9. You are making my tired just thinking about it!
Thanks for your kind words about my sister's shower!

  10. That's how I used to look at moving, a chance to go through everything during the packing and the unpacking. Every one to three years, before I retired from the Air Force, I'd do that and cleaned out the I don't plan on moving at all ever...and we have to come up with a new way to clear the decks.

    Have fun!! It's exciting.

  11. I really hated moving from Illinois to Hawaii. I had to give away, sell or donate so much of 35 years of memories. However, once we got here, I didn't miss most of the things. It was good not to have the extra baggage. And yet... here I am accumulating again. :-)

Ring of Kerry, Ireland
My husband, John and I went to Ireland for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2004. We had an awesome trip and we will never forget it. We actually got to visit our friends who live in Northern Ireland. We spent 3 wonderful days with them! The picture above was taken when we visited The Ring of Kerry. The beauty of Ireland is just spectacular! If you ever get a chance visit there.

Megan is my oldest daughter. She and Ken were married on April 12, 2008. It was a wonderful ceremony and reception!

Jenny and Kevin at their wedding 8/30/08. The wedding was at our home and turned out wonderful! Everyone had such a good time!
