Work has been so busy and now I know why!

I have been swamped at work, I mean really drowning for the last 2-3 weeks. Today I finally found out why--alot of the guys I work with will be taking vacation before and after Christmas! They didn't tell me until today. They said they thought I would just figure it out-really I'm suppose to read 8 men's minds! I'm trying to closeout 5 fairly large jobs, type subcontracts, change orders, red line drawings, keep up with some maintenance things in the office(coffee supplies, heating issues, ordering flowers for sick clients, just to name a few), take care of 8 projects issues, etc. and I'm suppose to also know what they are planning in their little brains!! Truly they are kidding!! Oh well now I feel better venting a bit to everyone here! It doesn't make all the mountains on my desk go down but I feel a little better. The only lovely thought is all those men-free days at the office while they are vacation-aaaahhhhhh! Thanks for letting me vent everyone :)!

  1. What? You're not a mind-reader??? Sherri, it sounds like you're doing the work of 4 people. I hope things calm down soon.

  2. Vent any time, Sherri. Hmm... those guys really are not very thoughtful or considerate. Wait till they see what Santa gives them in their stocking. Shame on them!

  3. Men!!!!

That's what we're hear for Sherri to share your vents!

    Victoria xx

  4. Thanks everyone! I just needed to vent or I felt like I was going to explode. Poor John usually has to listen to all this but he was working. You ladies are the greatest!!

Mary-you made me chuckle re: I'm not a mind reader. I needed that! Thanks!

  5. And men say that women expect them to read their minds. Ha!

We all need to vent. Thank goodness for girlfriends!

  6. Hope that helped!! It WILL be nice once they are all on vacation!

    Enjoy your day, Sherri!

  7. Sounds like you will at least get some quiet time to catch up. Men do tend to assume everyone knows their itinerary. Your crystal ball must have been cloudy when you should have been picking up on their vacation vibes;)

  8. Marnie-that's a good one. I think my crystal ball needs to go to the magic shop to be fixed.

Ring of Kerry, Ireland
My husband, John and I went to Ireland for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2004. We had an awesome trip and we will never forget it. We actually got to visit our friends who live in Northern Ireland. We spent 3 wonderful days with them! The picture above was taken when we visited The Ring of Kerry. The beauty of Ireland is just spectacular! If you ever get a chance visit there.

Megan is my oldest daughter. She and Ken were married on April 12, 2008. It was a wonderful ceremony and reception!

Jenny and Kevin at their wedding 8/30/08. The wedding was at our home and turned out wonderful! Everyone had such a good time!
